Well I wash my hair once a week and momentarily I use L'oreal Nutri Gloss and that shampoo is not good at all as it has only increased my dandruff, occassionally I apply some oil but I mostly do that during the week not before I wash them, so I guess I'll change that habit. I towel dry and then air dry it. I cut it about 3 times a year.
Another thing is my nutrition it's just really bad. I don't eat fish no egg products rarely any cashews or other nuts, I don't drink milk etc. So maybe my lack of proteins is the cause for such dry hair?
I live in Germany so Bodyshop products are available here.
Apparently drinking milk gives you healthier hair, less dry, so change your diet? Or in the very least take multivits n minerals with calcium too.
Perhaps you should start washing your hair more often to stimulate those follicles to produce more natural oils.
For dandruff, mix some sugar with olive oil and give your scalp a good scrubbing with is. Gina advocates the use of sugar and olive oil as an exfoliator for your face, BUT it works just as well on your scalp! (I tried it on my husband, it really worked on his dandruff!). Really massage it in so that it exfoliates your scalp, then wash off thoroughly.
I think in the first instance, you should try this to see if it works for you. Just go to the kitchen now and mix it up, then straight to the shower and report back IMMEDIATELY.
Pantene oil replacement therapy has the benefits of oil..without the greasy-feel or smell! I love it.. the thing with applying heavy-duty oils such as olive/almond oil is that u require more shampoo to get it out.. and that strips the hair of all natural oils.
OK I did as RH said but I didn't use the shampoo as I'M way too afraid it will do more harm. As I said that shampoo is not good, I gotta buy a new shampoo today...Is Herbal essences good? I am probably not able to make it to the city today :( and our local supermarket doesn't have that many :(
My hairdresser suggested Phytologie shampoo and mask, my hair is bleached every 4 weeks so it gets pretty abused but that stuff keeps it really really soft :)
^ Just the roots get done once a month, a few yrs back I was more fussy + obsessive so had them done every 2 weeks but now I prefer the look of a tiny bit of regrowth. They’re bleached really really light blonde from a natural blondey/brown colour, takes about 40mins to get to that shade. It doesn’t get dry at all cos I use that Phytologie nourishing mask once a week and their shampoo, seriously if that stuff doesn’t make ur hair absolutely perfect nothing will. Loads of hairdressers and chemists sell it and they do give out free samples as well
WOW you have natural blonde/brown hair? Aww I always wanted some dark/bronze brownish shade last year I had them dyed in something that should be brown but it became red and then I re-dyed in black :( now I still have the desire to go for brownish hair but I got no idea how to achieve it as you never know how it turns out to be. PLUS the hairdressers here are always afraid to dye mine for they are so thick.
Yeah, it's a boring bland colour tho so I tend to go a bit mad with it. Right now it's super light like Gwen Stefani type colour but I might go darker after the summer. If ur hair is dark brown or black u have to be really careful going lighter, if u want a brown or bronze tint u could try those V05 colour mousses, my brother uses them and his hair looks brownish but natural looking lighter brown, looks lovely in the sun and no-one can tell it's not natural..
Fair but I have a kashmiri friend who has black hair and brown eyes and she's paler than me, doesn't even tan in the sun (u know super pale colour like Chinese ppl) whilst I still go brown in the sun. Funny how those things work out isnt it :)
Definately I'm wheatish and I can become really dark if I tan(WHICH I DON'T), but I got some Punjabi friends who got the same complexion as me. I guess one cannot really generalise when it comes to that.
OH BTW can brushes damage the hair structure also?
Never use oil or other leave in treatments when you have dandruff in your hair. You need to treat the problem first! Use a Tar based shampoo such as Neutrogena T-Gal for a couple of months at least. You can alternate with other moisturizing shampoos and conditioners. I like Loreal's Serie Expert Intense Repair shampoo and conditioner. You can use the conditioner as a hair mask and leave it on for 12-15 mins and rinse. It will really make a difference. But please avoid using oil at all costs!!
:S Now I'm getting confused here...OK so first everyone said take oil...now you are saying don't use it? How come? Can it increase my dandruff o.O?????????? L'oreal is not good for me as it only increases my dandruff Neutrogena they should have in stores...

Hmmm, in my experience oil helps. BUT there's no reason why you shouldn't use T-Gel shampoo AND oil.
