Superdry hair

:frowning: Does anyone here know how to fight extremely dry hair?? Shampoos and conditioner don’t help me at all, plus that Loreal shampoo that I’ve been using lately has caused me a lot of dandruff  Does oil help? Is there any shampoo which is good? I got long hair and it bothers me that it looks so unhealthy I’ve been considering to get layers again but I don’t know if that is allowed or not.

It needs intensive conditioning.

Cheaper option: Henara Intensive Treatment Wax

More pricey option: Dry Remedy™ Moisturising Treatment Masque - Hair Care - Extra Treatment - Aveda UK
and maybe the shampoo to go with it.

Re: Superdry hair

oh yea, and definitely get a trim to sort out any split ends.

i'd mostly keep the length and put some soft layers in. the stylist will probably tell you how much needs to come off to get it looking healthy again. and ask them to do a deep conditioning treatment then too - it'll get you started.

Re: Superdry hair

Shukriya stoppit.

Yeah my friend just advised me on using oil all time but then the hair looks so volume-less. Most Pakistani girls I know have such soft and silky hair they look shiny and mine is dry and without any shine. I've also been told that nutrition is a reason why they've become this way?

Re: Superdry hair

Massage a whole load of Extra Virgin Olive Oil in your hair and leave it in for about 2 hours. Wash it out. Then you will notice that you CANNOT get the stuff out completely, it will take about a week of washes to go fully, which is probably a good thing if u have extremely dry hair.

Re: Superdry hair

Really? I thought the lesser you wash it the better it is for your hair :S I also wanted to get them dyed in some brownish shade but I guess that will only increase the dryness. Others said to me I should use Mehndi as that also helps.

ew i hate greasy hair with remnants of oiling.

pls don’t tell me you do this. i don’t want my  for you to diminish.

Yea, don't wash your hair toooo often.

Dying is probably not the best option yet. Get it cut and in good condition first.

Btw mehndi is drying too, so I wouldn't advise that yet.

Re: Superdry hair

^ What I meant was that when you use the evoo, it's really hard to get out, even if you wash it again and again the next day and day after. (Well, thats what happened to me!).

Yes, washing does dry your hair, but sometimes you want it to dry out - after using evoo on it, for example.

Anyhow, I do advise you to apply some baby oil on your hair just after you wash it, when your hair is still quite wet. This certainly helps, ALOT.

Very simple, and very effective. Try it today. Right now.

Will it help if i say i did it just the once? But it was like a greasy mess for week, nothing would wash it out, just got better with time.

Re: Superdry hair

Ahh Greasy mess...it will be welcomed if it's going to put them back in shape again...No one will see them anyways they are safe under the hijaab so I guess I can try it all out.

Is Yoghurt another good option or does that only work in hot areas?

i know, i made the same mistake once when i was a teenager.

leave the oil for the cooking, i say.

Tayyebeh: I'd still go for the intensive conditioning, especially if your hair is dry from the roots.
if it's just the ends, maybe oiling just the end few inches of your hair will help and it won't matter so much if it doesn't completely come out in the first wash.

Re: Superdry hair

I had my lengths cut that monday so the ends are not split anymore but dry, my complete hair is dry so I guess the conditioner is a good solution but I hardly doubt I'll get that one here in Germany :(

I’m sure you can find Henara online at a UK site that delivers to Germany… in fact, here you go: Henara Hair Care Products - Direct Chemist - Page - 1

Do you not get Aveda there in stores?

Re: Superdry hair

Nopes I've never seen it here. :( jazakallah khair for your help dear :D I'll try it and tell you how it turned out hehe :D

Re: Superdry hair

I used to have dry hair and a oily scalp with dandruff even though i was using intensive moisturizing conditioner. my hair soaks up water easily, so i am thinking that maybe the water was preventing the conditioner from absorbing into my hair.

What I do now is use shampoo on the scalp only (the ends get a bit of diluted shampoo when i rinse), and conditioner only from the ears down. that way the scalp doesn't get any residue.

I gently squeeze out my hair before i get out and then run garnier fructis shine serum through my hair and let it air dry. If there's a dawat, i use an extra pump and blow dry.

btw do not use amla hair oil...it is horrible to get out, and when you have long hair, that means it is 3-4 years old, ie. it is pretty delicate. so it sucks, i ended up using harsh dishwashing liquid in my hair to get the grease out of my hair, so i think it damaged my hair more overall.

Re: Superdry hair

if you have split ends or damage from frying/drying your hair, then my ideas won't help much i think...better to cut it off and let fresh healthy hair grow in. Short and healthy >long and ugly

Re: Superdry hair

It might also help if you told us what your current hair routine is. It will also help to identify if perhaps something you're using/doing is making your hair drier.

For example, how often do you wash your hair? What shampoo & conditioner do you use?

Do you towel dry and then blow dry? Or do you air dry? Do you use any product in it before you dry it? How often do you trim your hair?

Re: Superdry hair

Olive oil is very, very good for intense moisturizing. Also, Brazil Nut Moisture Mask and Poppy Seed Oil Reviving Mask from the Body Shop are AMAZING. Your hair is gonna feel so good just after one use.

Re: Superdry hair

which country are you in?

if ure in the england then bodyshop does an amazing hair mask, it totally sorted out my issues which were the same as ures!
