is it ok for a sunni muslim to pray in jammat with a shia imam if they leave out the shia duas, etc?
Btw the majority of ppl praying in jammat (friday prayer) are sunni’s. They pray there because it is the only mosque in the area where they work.

** Answer** : It is permissible to offer prayer in their congregational prayer. However, it is obligatory upon you to recite Hamd and Sura chapters on your own – be the recitation in low voice though.

shiaas have prayed behind me as their imaam, but i have never seen any sunni pray behind a shiaa....
i once prayed in a shiaa mosque, there was no jamaat there, i prayed alone, but my friend who was with me refused to enter the mosque even....
he missed the prayer but wud not enter a shiaa mosque to pray....
i dont think there shud be any problem praying behind a shiaa....
they have the same arkaan of prayers as all muslims and whatever the difference, it is just on the fiqh that they follow....
after all, we do pray after ppl who follow other fiqh (e.e. hanafis praying behinf shaafis, malikis praying behind hanbalis) and fiqh jaafaria is just another fiqh....

Yes, that's true. My Dad and brother used to travell to different towns to buy cloth to sell. That used to take all day and usually friday was the day to go. So they've often prayed in different mosques from people from different Islamic groups. No trouble there.

Well, I don't see any problem in that. I am a sunni and I'd not find it a problem to offer prayer in a shia mosques. Again, "Al-Masjid" is a place of prayer for Muslims. In my dictionary, there in not "Shia Mosque" or a "Sunni Mosque"..........
Our prophet(PBUH) was not a Shia or Sunni. He (PBUH) was a Muslim, so am I. So for me, I think we all should change our attitude towards this issue, lets unit in one "Ummah".........

but ppl from different madhabs are still sunni’s…the beliefs are the same just some variations. some sunni’s dont even consider shia’s muslims.

I think it is ok. My friend is Shia, and he prayed with a Sunni Jumaat.

Alhamdulillah, nobody has passed any bad comments about this topic.
I hope Muslims unit into one Ummah soon and forget these differences.
I had a Shia friend in Lahore. He used to pray with us (in his own manner) in our Jamaat of 4-5 friends (in our gatherings at home) and whosoever among us lead the prayer specially kept in mind to be slow in leading the prayer so as to enable hhim to tune in with us. Alhamdulillah, it worked and he eagerly prayed with us.
Similarly, we did the Iftaar with him. Although he broke his fast a little later than us but we always accomodated him and we happily offered the prayer later on.....

i guess ppl have different beliefs…some say its ok but others say shia’s have different duas etc…i dunno it’s all too confusing.

tell me why it wouldn't be ok? They are not doing any kofar in their namaz, it is pretty much the same namaz except the dua in 2nd rakat and our mulana reads rabana atina fiduniya... a very famous dua so even if you end up reading that dua, there is nothing i assume...

u ask why wouldnt it be ok? well i dont know myself that is why i am asking. I just heard from some that it wasnt. I personally dont have a problem with doing so. I just wanted to make sure if what i heard was true or not.

^ havent heard of any problem of praying behind a shiaa....
until the person u have heard it from comes with a clear proof that praying behind shiaa is not allowed, assume it otherwise....
