**Board Member since 2012 Kiran, originally from Pakistan, grew up in South Carolina. Her family returned to Pakistan when she was 14 years old. She acquired her bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and French and her master’s in Fine Arts from Punjab University. She was professor of Modern Art at Fatima Jinnah Women’s University in Rawalpindi. She also taught French for several years at the Alliance Francaise in Rawalpindi. Kiran’s paintings have been exhibited and sold in many solo and group exhibitions. Apart from her career as an artist and teacher, she played the lead role in three Pakistani TV drama series.
Upon returning to the United States in 2001, she relocated to New Haven where she taught French at Helene Grant School and the Yeshiva High School. She designed a curriculum at Helene Grant Headstart Center using art to teach French to children in kindergarten through sixth grade. She was the manager and an educator at the Eli Whitney Museum in Hamden. Kiran and her husband, Sabooh S. Mubbashar, live in Woodbridge with their three children, who attend Foote. Kiran is currently enrolled at Wesleyan University in the Masters of Arts in Liberal Studies program.

Her last serial was Jabr based on Kashmir movement where she was paired against Ahsan Talish.

Sarang was telecasted during Ammr ul Momineen Nawaz Sharif's first tenure. Same era when Sahira Kazmi refused to act in Haseena Moin's Kasak (a role specially written for Sahira)

Sarang was telecasted during Ammr ul Momineen Nawaz Sharif's first tenure. Same era when Sahira Kazmi refused to act in Haseena Moin's Kasak (a role specially written for Sahira)
I think it was televised in mid 90's, so it may be Pee Pee Pee's second tenure, maybe I'm wrong

Sarang was telecasted alongwith Uroosa in 1991 (MNS first tenure). I remember this because recently I read Amar Jalil's autobiography, where he mentioned that he had to write scrip of Sarang and Sindhi serial 'Mitti Ja Manhoo'. Shama Junejo was both in Uroosa and Mitti Ja Manhoo. Kasak was followed by Uroosa in next seh-maahi (quarter).

Did Zara of 'Tanhaiyan' or Dr Zoya of 'Dhoop Kinare' wore dupatta? Never seen Nazia Hasan singing with Dupatta during Zia regime.

i think zia implement dupatta policy for newscasters, for actresses that policy was definetly in MNS tenure with dramas like uroosa, aanch, din, kasak, rozi etc.

I have heard khush bakht shujaat also refused to wear dupatta, was she a newscaster or an actress?

Ankahi (1982) had more dopatta-less scenes. Heroine was shown running/jumping on the beach.
In 'Darwaza' (Drama 81), a tiny bit of heroine's cleavage was visible in some scenes where she was narrating her story to the doctor.

she used to host shows. so kinda newscaster status. But recently, she came on screen with dupatta in Ramadan shows. who cares? Maya Khan also did the same
