In corporate world there is often a culture of having annual summer picnics whether arranged by the corporate itself or on the individual or group level. Even places where its summer 365 days they try to arrange picnics in these months.
we have both. My dad is huge on BBQing so as soon as the weather is nice in Dubai (4 months a year) we go out picnicing. Also for work. From dec-March, all i eat is kebab, chicken tikka, grilled fish. fun.
Sure, only when the weather is good. It’s too hot the rest of the year round unless u want a wicked sun burn. lol. @mahool we have 3 kinds of beaches in Dubai. One is for normal people, you can wear whatever u want, wear pants and go in, no one cares. Then there’s the more tourist-y one where all the tourists are in itsy bitsy bikinis or men in swim wear that will scar u for life. lol Then there are others where you find both, bikini clads and women swimming in burka’s. It’s an interesting and harmonious mix.
I’m always invited to a family or friends picnic/bbq like nearly every weekend in summer. Then you get the Iftar bbqs in Ramadan. It’s nice but when you’re constantly invited to one or hold them yourself, the novelty wears off and I often look for excuses not to go.
I hate picnics. I go there for food. Everyone brings. I eat. sweat. avoid aunties. avoid animals. avoid people. avoid trees. get tanned. call it a day.
We’ve had 3 picnics so far, and counting. They’ve been socially for friends. InshaAllah I really want to do a family picnic after Eid.
I usually see girls gifting perfumes or jewelry to other girls as graduation gifts. I’m pretty clueless when it comes to gifting, unless I know the receiver pretty well.
Never gone camping, but there is some talk of going camping before the end of summer. That should be exciting!
Last year…me and some bunch of friends and their wives..went to cottage. Nevertheless very good experience. We did bbq, went to beach. Stayed one night. Couldn’t have complete fun..coz of some sort of cirmcumstances in my life..but now this year..i am looking forward to it..
