So Islamic State was an American idea? Did it somehow magically become popular after the war? Historically speaking, haven’t there been other groups wanting to establish sharia law before modern day terrorist groups? The only difference now and then is instability in the middle east caused by the war. Now these terrorist groups can openly do what they weren’t able to do before. If these were backlash attacks on the west, they wouldn’t target average muslims. The truth is they are targeting anyone who doesn’t follow their version of Islam, a version that very much exists but we keep denying or justifying it. Everybody is their target not just the west. The west has accepted hundreds and thousands of Syrian refugees because they do realize they too have blood on their hands. It’s easy to blame outsiders than to look within.

No suicide bomb attack had happened in Iraq’s history before the US war on Iraq and you are still bent on telling people that Iraq war has no after effects. In fact people like you are the reason US attacked Iraq without any hesitation. Before ISIS, alqaeda was attacking US interests but were not attacking Muslims masses. West was their enemy. After increased atrocities and direct attacks on Arab countries, the regimes supporting West are now at the hit-list of reactionary groups.

The Iraq war definitely had after effects.. Saddam kept a tight hold and I believe he was necessary for that region to function (again just MY opinion).

But wait, so it’s ok to attack US interests (ex. most recently the guy who plowed over people, killing 80+ including children in Nice) where innocent people die regardless of their religion but it’s NOT ok to attack areas where the masses are Muslim?

Again I ask - what does this accomplish? It doesn’t me want to be a better Muslim. It barely makes me want to be a Muslim. It’s nothing to be proud of. Again, In my opinion.
