They don’t need to modified, they need to be studied, analyzed, debated. We cannot wear a 21st century thinking cap and read a 6th century book and we cannot take verses out of context and the situation to which they were revealed to the Prophet at the time. The problem nowadays is people don’t even think, debate, analyze Quran

This is the case with many religious books and readers. Whatever we have called pious/pavitra, we have maligned, didn’t respect.
