before you go on taunt us about our cousins-- make sure you do some research on how many girls are raped every year, by their immediate family, In non islamic world.

First of all, I consider myself to be part of the Muslim World. That is exactly why I feel the need to point out such social corruptions in our society. Acknowledging a problem is the first step of working towards its solution.
Rapes happen everywhere, in conservative (Pakistani, Indian, Bangladeshi, Muslim, Hindu) societies and in liberal (Western) societies as well. But they happen more often in the conservative societies. You might throw some stats at me showing the atrocious number of rapes in USA but don't forget that these numbers are higher for the western world because their rape cases are mostly registered whereas such cases in the Indian subcontinent are mostly NOT registered or acknowledged. Sexual segregation leads to sexual frustration which only boosts man's chances of committing sexual assault. Such sexual frustration also increases the cases of cousin on cousin bang bang. Liberalization is key! Let the sexes mix! Let boys and girls date and feel comfortable with the opposite sex!

suicide is a depressive mode tactic. if he had true caring for her and other tension due to families' non agreement to their posssible marriage was a tough issue as well, perhaps they did not realize that his life is at risk.
suicidal person never is understood until he commits suicide.
his condition could have been diff if only even one person, his mother or father, would have listened to him. what sort of a friend is she that she played with his sense of care for her. if anything, she should have been able to at least indicate to his parents that he is suicidal. this is terrible.
one big reason why relationships between young women and men must be commitment-oriented, so that no one suffers giving up their lives like this, if this was the reason why he commited suicide.
could it be that his family or he had other problems?
no one can say with any certainity what crossed his mind so badly that he took his life himself.
it is a young age, very young age.
and that is why it is risky.
may Allah give sabr to his parents and a life long lesson to this girl to never ever demean honesty in relations.

I am sorry for your friend's family, but I think that there is too much of a rush to blame the girl. Rarely do people commit suicide because of another person. There is something else, mental or emotional, that increases suicidal tendencies in the first place. Blaming her is a way of trying to shift their own guilt for not recognizing his depression.

I think you understand what I was trying to say. Keeping the girls and the boys separate and having minimum interaction between the sexes makes them sexually awkward. Also don't forget we're all humans with sexual feelings and desire. Such lack of interaction, lack of relationships, and lack of sexual activity will make them sexually frustrated. Thats how it is in most parts of South Asia.

That's bad. I never knew a guy would go to this extent of committing suicide for a girl. Might be he coudn't bear when he realised his girlfiendf was betraying him by flirting with other guys. He might have deeply loved her I guess. Only Allah knows the pain he has gone through.

I just heard a very disturbing news....one of my best friend's sister had a boyfriend back in Pakistan and he committed suicide like few days ago....now his family is blaming my friend's sister....they are really angry at her....I mean i knew that girl too she was kinda bigiri howi and she used to flirt with many guys but i just cant believe that her boyfriend will go to that extent just for her..she was a shia and the guy was sunni so their family were strictly against their relationship and the guy also knew that his girlfriend is having other relationships here in US...
Its weird and shocking that nobody in his family or his girlfreind realized that he had suicide tendencies....i just beleive somebody could have stopped him especially his girlfriend...He was only 24 and was the oldest brother...Nobody knows what was the reason behind this act but everybody is really shocked...i really feel bad for his parents!
Suicide is haram but i know we are no one to judge him...May Allah bless his soul..Aameen.

Don't rush to judge the deceased, mots people who commit suicide have longtsanding psychiatrist illness, and this may not be apparent to people. His life might have been saved by a timely medical intervention.
