its another one of those hindu traditions that carried on with the conversion of Hindus to Muslims in the sub-continent. Non-existent in in some parts of Pakistan (where Indian culture was never a part of the lives of people such as Nwfp), whilst still practised in other parts.
It actually goes against Islamic teachings, as the privacy of the bedroom is meant to be guarded, even from parents.
and seriously wtf, showing sheets to the neighbours??? wtf??? no one in their right mind does that...
Advice : watch less indian dramas/movies...
