after helping me finding a good mascara, please help me with a foundation too
i need a good foundation. i have a combination dry/oily skin. my skin tone is very pakistani, mediam dark with olive undertone.
i have gone to sephora, mac, ulta.
when ever i ask them to suggest me a foundation they give me the most darkest, yellowish looking shade and insist that it looks perfect, but when i see my self in the morror i look yellow and sick.
few years ago someone gave me MAC’s foundation because that person didn’t liked it. the color is NC35 which is quite light for a desi skin. it did not match my skin at all but i still used it once in a while. i was 19 and quite dump about make up back then so i didn’t care about the fact that it doesn’t matches my skin.
ALHAMDULILAH i have a very clear skin so i don’t need a thick layer of foundation to cover anything. i usualy just use a small of drop of foundation mix it with with my lotion put it on my face, and then use a sponge to wipe it off, so what ever is left on my skin looks natural. since i dialute it with lotion, the end result is very very sheet with just a hint of foundation, and people usualy tell me i looks nice.
but now after 3 years when i am much older and more mature (i guess:hoonh:) i need a foundation that actually matches my skin tone, and looks good too.
i am not that gora-looking-wannabe but for some reason i think i look better with a foundation that is few shades lighter than my skin tone, because i don’t use thick layer of foundation on my skin.
i don’t want to buy MAC again, main reason is that i think the MAC’s SA at our local nordstorm are quite rude and also because i am tired of using mac.
i was thinking about going with estee lauder, what do u guys think? i checked makeupally.com and ppl have really good review about the foundation enlightment. but it only comes in 4 shades and i hardly doubt any of those 4 shades matches my skin.

ummm estee lauder is fne but dotn expect to find sumthing for ur skn tone there cuz they dont actually make stuff for desi olive skin. i think revlon makes best yellow based foundations not a great designer brand but it suits desi skin tone. and its not that "marial" or sick horse looking yellow too.

their color stay foundations r good pecially the active light make up. and DONT buy thier custom creations it looks good cuz u can creat ur own colour but it never really matches so dont spen ur money on this even if its cheap but still dotn buy it :hehe:
OR go for ySL their foundations r good too. i dont liek them personally but give it a try may be u’ll like it cuz they have nice yellow based foundations that r not THAT yellow and they jst melt into ur skin.

^ Get ur local Clinique rep to give u some free samples as well, they have a huge range of shades and so many different textures/types of foundations to try out :)

i have tried it :( but i don't think i liked the look of it on my face.
clinique's SA gave me 5 different shades i wore them all and asked my friends what they think, they didn't think it looked that nice or anything. it was average looking.

if i can't a nice shade that matches my skin tone in America, then is there a good foundation brand in pakistan?? i will be going to pakistan soon so i can buy it from there. but i don't know any good brand in pakistan.
Shop around different brands till u find ur 'perfect fit.' :)
Dior Airflash is another good one that gives a really flawless airbrushed look, bit pricey but a lot of people I know that tried it now refuse to use anything else..
I am in love with the Bobbi Brown's foundation stick. It provides medium coverage, but u could always build it by layering more. Doesn't look cakey at all, very natural. I think it would be great for you since you have nice skin, so you can put it only where you need coverage. Definitely something to look into. :)
Bobbi brown stick foundation! Superb for desi skin. I'm pretty fair with yellow undertones, its perfect for me whereas others seem too dark or too light
well..i just bought bobbi brown foundation stick..and i just didn't like the coverage ..maybe cuz my skin is very dry so it kinna looked flakey..
so i think am gonna get back to MAC studio fix fluid - for some odd reason..I really like their foundations.
and yea dont go by what their MA tell you..they dont know jack about desi skin tones...they think all of us are brown so they convince us to buy all the dark shades in the world.
Thats why I just started trying out different shades on my own to find my perfect match.

I have deep yellow undertones and the only foundation that matches my skin tone perfectly is the Studio Fix Fluid in NC40. I want to try other brands but I don’t know if I could find another shade that matches so perfectly. Like all other girls mentioned, don’t listen to the Mac’s MA tell you. They don’t know much about Desi skin tones.
i have seen a lot of that girl's youtube tutorial and in all of her videos her skin tone looks different to me depending on if she is wearing makeup or how much light is on her face so i can't figure out if my skin tone is similar to her or darker to try that NC40 she is talking about.
she talked about MAC's minerlized foundation. has anyone tried it??? cuz MAc studio fix does break me out too if i use it continously for few days.
