Sufi Poets of Pakistan

Arz e Pakistan ka chappa chappa sufi buzrgon ke mazaraat se bhara hua hai. In Sufi Buzrgon ne rawadari, amn aur mohabbat ke pegham se na sirf apni zindagiyon main dilon per raaj kiya balke unka kalaam aaj bhi iss khittay ke logon ke liye mash’al e raah hai.

In this thread, lets share poetry of Sufi poets of Pakistan (from all the regions and languages)… Considering the Sufi poets from Punjab (Waris Shah, Baba Bulleh Shah, Khwaja Fareed, Mian Muhammad Bux, Sultan Bahoo, Shah Hussain), Sindh (Shah Lateef, Sachal Sarmast), KP (Rehman Baba), Balochistan (Mast Tawakkali) I expect good participation from all the members.

Please come up with the poetry of sufi poets of the language you know and if you can, please add translation too.

I start this with the Hamd written by Sindhi Sufi poet Shah Abdul Lateef Bhitai.

Re: Sufi Poets of Pakistan

Very nice thread Muqawee :k: I will share some sufi kalaam soon.

Re: Sufi Poets of Pakistan

The concept of concentrating on one letter ‘Alif’ has been taken by many sufi poets. If we read Shah Latif, he says ’ Akhar padh alif jo, warq sabh wisaar - Read the letter Alif forget all other pages’ means when you can read Alif and come to know your creator ‘Allah’, you don’t need anything further to learn.

Baba Bulleh Shah introduce this concept as under:

Sultan Baahoo’s most famous kalam revolves around this concept.

Its always a soulful experience to listen Iqbal Bahoo singing ‘Kalam e Bahoo’

Re: Sufi Poets of Pakistan

yes its a wonderful kalam by Zaheen Shah taaji sung beautifully by Abida Pareen in her album ' Raqs e Bismil'.

Khak-e-dar-e-janana kya hai, Ahle dil ki Aankh ka Surma
Shama ke dil ki Thandak ban ja, Noor-e-dil-e-Parwana ban ja

Seekh Zaheen ke dil se Jalna, kahe ko har Shamma pey jalna
Apni aag mein Khud jal jaye, Tu Aisa Parwana ban ja

A begging bowl is in my hand
