I don’t know about anyone else, but the constant interruption of live coverage to make way for badly put together advertisements seriously gets on my wick. Quite often you can miss 3-4 balls of the over due to this and that doesn’t happen with English broadcasters because they pride themselves on their professionalism. I’m not sure who is in charge of cutting the cameras away at ARY but it wouldn’t surprise me if it was the studio janitor.
In some ways ARY is a great step forward for Pak tv and the fact that they secured the rights to broadcast Pakistani matches is testament to that. But the shoddy coverage and poorly timed interruption makes them look like a joke outfit. Is there any way to complain about this and hopefully get a reply?
Nes yaar, I don't have a problem with the commentary team, independent or not, they are doing a passable job.
What I find inexcusable is the missing of 2-3 balls of almost every over. I don't like missing the fall of a wicket or missing someone get a century because of having to watch Dixi chicken ads for the 50th time in the space of a couple of hrs. It just wouldn't happen with a more professional broadcasting company.
well i would say the TV-Coverage is up to Pak test teams playing standards
for viewers in Europe:
Get a Ten Sports card and kick ARY (this card also includes also ARY Digital, Zee, Star and Sony) … but once u’ve a Ten Sports card then there is no need to watch it on ARY since Ten Sports show very little advertisement
The only problem is that all viewers in northern Europe (North France, North Germany, Holland, Belgium, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and UK) need a big dish (around 1,50 - 1,80m or 5 - 6 foot ) to receive the Ten Sports signal
I quite agree with Xtreme. In fact I have been thinking of ringing ARY and complaining about the way they are broadcasting the game. A few overs ago they forgot to broadcast ads when the over finished and as Xtreme says the janitor remembered his mistake when the new over started and as Danish came into bowl he cut away and we were treated to the delights of Saki snacks. Pathetic.
ehsan, maybe if a few of us complain they might think it's worthwhile doing something about it. Apart from anything else it reflects very badly on ARY and pakistani tv as a result. I would think it's in their interests to put things right if they want their channel to be recommended to others.
Someone needs to make the point across to ARY producers that too many repetitive ads within a couple of hours may kick in "Law of Diminishing Returns". Viewers may actually start hating the product being advertised than developing a loyalty to it.
This kind of behavior is just another testament that Pakistani are an unprofessional breed of professionals. It ranges from Janitorial services to all the way up to the Presidency.
