It infuriates me when I hear such stories too. You know what? I don't even bother to talk to such people. You have to develop a radar for kachray laug. When you see such people, don't even bother speaking to them.
Out of all the people in the world, you can find a number of 'em to talk to that are not f'ed up.
Why raise BP when talking to such a lady. If for some reason my radar disfunctioned, I would excuse myself in the middle of the conversation (especially the shirk part) and leave. And I'd let her know that as a muslim, I was really offended and outraged just speaking to her, and also that she should never speak to me again unless she got onto the righteous path.
For self-righteous people, only smacking them in the face with their own attitude works.
