it seriously does and of course to a bride it feels so unfair--"why is this happening to me" etc etc etc. Im not a lawyer but to me it seems like breach of a contract...

also, do u know if this is the same rule from Mariott to Mariott???? What if the other ones in the city allow carpeting and you can just exchange venues......most probably they would look the same right?

I called another marriott close to the one in Irving..and they do allow carpeting on the stage....which is why i am looking into transferring....but they wont let me out of the contract...so I ll have to find an alternative...since we cant change the date...invites are already printed...
i am going to talk to them inshallah! I have to pray extra hard now... :)

shay works for marriott-- ask her if maybe she has any contacts or advice for your situation? if they don't change their minds even after threat of legal action/contract breach, don't worry hon, we will definitely come up with a plan to save the day! perhaps the decorator can cover the stage with something other than a black overlay?

If the rule came into effect AFTER you signed the contract with them, then they ARE in breach of that contract and legally, your wedding SHOULD go ahead as planned. Don't let them tell you otherwise. Good luck and keep us updated. x

alright!! so I had a talk with them today in detail…and it finally came down to this…I have to rent my own stage…with a written contract from my decorator that Marriott will not be responsible for anyone tumbling down that day (may Allah keep everyone safe..ameen) 
so now I am not using their FREE stage or the dance floor…

phew..i am so relieved...I ll be meeting with the decorators next week so I can discuss the design for the stage,fabrics colors etc...as well as other stuff....oh and did I say I love chivaris!! :)

The pic really doesn’t do it justice. The glow was wonderful and the whole thing looked really elegant. It was also much wider, but I needed to cut it so as not to post people. There were some candles on tower-like stands and then some suspended from above.

that is not going to be an issue for you, woman! their dark brown looks so chic, and the gold and silver are just regal.

Marriott is not providing me with any upgraded linen...I looked at their swatches...and It deoesnt match with the decor at all...so..........since M&M is doing the stage.....they might as well do the linen....I am providing them with all the crystal for the backdrop.... :) yeah...."i did my homework"!! ;)
