...I don't understand how this followed form what I wrote...my point was, people crying about law and order are in fact crying about something else...law and order can't possiblly be what is on peoples mind...the place has no law and order to start with...and it takes this incident to wake people up? Sounds more like an excuse to vent against a particular type of people, rather than their actions...
This sounds like an argument to turn a blind eye to it, unless one can find the silver bullet solution. Such a solution doesn't exist.
I think Faisal was spot on...regardless of who you root for, the law enforcement is so broken (they seem to be willing to beat the crap out of a people in a news office...but could care less about people who go around Pakistan abducting little girls and forcing them into prostitution) that people are just getting fed up.
I don't disagree here but like Fraduia said vigilante justice may look good and in my opinion has been much inspired through Hollywood has anarchic effects in the society. In an Islamic state there is no room for vigilante justice no matter how ineffective the administration may have become. If you are interetsed in law enforcement then put on their gear and face all sorts of other crimes as well. If you want to see a change then do it in the right place. A law is a law, end of story. People like these are tried for different counts. They may be rewarded for their intention and vigilante justice but also punished for taking law into their own hand. You punish for what deserves punishment and reward for what needs rewarded, don't mix them or overlook one because of the other. As for the people running brothels, they should be punished by the law enforcement for breaking the law as well. If you take a deeper look the problem for all of this is the law enforcement not doing there job. So unless people try to fix the root problem the society will not improve but will keep falling into crevices.
On the same token people must also respect law enforcement then. The law enforcement should have the authority to deal with anyone who breaks the law no matter how high his political status may be. Our police has been made corrupt by our people because that is how our people want to live.
To me the proper solution would have been:
1 - Straighten out the police departments and restore their authority.
2 - Charge the crowd or vigilante's for breaking the law.
3 - Rehabilitate the victims of that brothel.
4 - Charge the owners of that brothel for breaking the law.

I agree. It will be interesting to see how this event actually plays out. One can hope for the best...
Out of all this discussion, I do feel perplexed on one thing. How can those living Far Far Away even imagine how our police, judicial system and justice works???
I don’t know which world you guys live in???
Wake up its Pakistan…
Just like Afghanistan, here in Pakistan when there is a vacuum…no government authority and no justice…people start taking law into their own hands (which is wrong)
Yes amr bil maroof and nahi an il munkar is part of our faith but…and therefore it is our concern to nip the evil in the bud..
No law and order in Pakistan …than this is what you will increasingly see…
By the way, get a poll done…ok lets say the local people…you would be amazed that more than 80% are happy at what happened.
I am not defending or criticising something.. Some people here on GS…living in Canada and US or any other civilized country feel that Pakistan is also like them …which it is not. HERE THERE IS NO LAW
