Students raid Islamabad brothel

Re: Students raid Islamabad brothel

Someone needs to pull a suicide bombing on them before they pull one on us.

Show them who's boss.

Re: Students raid Islamabad brothel

So far, there is no independent confirmation that the raided "home" is indeed a brothel. Citizen vigilantes simply can't decide who's good or bad for the society. This has gone too far and encourage other idiots to commit such acts of vigilante justice.

Where are those hatti katti (stout) Pakistani police women? Pakistani police women need to show those girls who's the boss in this country. It'd make country so happy if the event was televised. Pakistani women are so good with sticks and canes and they'll sure whup in some sanity in these deranged little minks.

Bismillah.

Re: Students raid Islamabad brothel

THANKYOU!!! sum1 who has gt sense. pakistan is an islamic country.

Re: Students raid Islamabad brothel

i dnt agree with the kidnappin part though thats wrong

legbreakgoogly - wat u mean slapped with bacon rashers? that was a disgusting comment 2 make

Re: Students raid Islamabad brothel

^^

But it's not a country where people can do what they want. Prostitution is illegal in Pakistan, there is a process that can be followed to report a brothel and arrange for police to deal with it.

Kidnapping people is not allowed! I hope that the women who planned the kidnap, the women who carried it out, and the women who shelter the kidnappers are all arrested and thrown in jail for a very long time.

Re: Students raid Islamabad brothel

I'd say arrest and/or reform the admitted brothel worker for being a freaking brothel worker. The last I checked, preaching Islam is still not illegal in Pakistan...and "extermism" is a rehtoric used to disparage the religious, and is not a reocgnized legal term...so I fail to see how this person can be accused of taking the law into their own hands...

Re: Students raid Islamabad brothel

It's not that simple; Pakistan is corrupt as hell. We shall see...if the brothel is shut down, and the sex slavers punished, then all is well....I doubt that will happen, since no doubt the police are getting kick backs from the brothel...

In that situation, can we honestly talk about due process?

Re: Students raid Islamabad brothel

Pray tell what part of preaching Islam includes kidnapping people who one thinks are breaking the law.

You fail to see how someone can be accused of taking the law into their own hands ?... err these people broke into some place, and kidnapped someone. How is that anything but taking the law in their own hands

if you are okay with someone kidnapping a brother owner because that is illegal, then surely by the same token if some mullah is preaching that others need to be killed ..sipah e sahaba type mullah, then what is the issue with someone kidnapping this person? same difference.. one person decides to break in and kidnap another person becauase person #1 believes that person #2 is doing the wring stuff.

Re: Students raid Islamabad brothel

This is a pakistani city...not Toronto or New York.

These ladies did what they did within their own communities...they're not roving militants...and the track record of the police in that country is known to all and sundry...so my sympathies will naturally lie with them...

Why is it when Islamists break the law, it's all about the legalities? Yet I have not heard a single peep against these brothels....at least someone is doing something about it....

This isn't about sectarian violence...this is about sex slavers getting their due...but I suppose that's all a figment of someone's imagination...Pakistan is pristine and the only problem is has is one of Islamic miltancy I suppose.

Sometimes, gasp, militants do the right thing...invoking legalisms and presuming a functioning police department is a bit much...

What I failed to see was the comparison of a sex slaver shutting down a Madrassa be shut down to what these students did...

Re: Students raid Islamabad brothel

Why do you call them "sex slaves"?

Re: Students raid Islamabad brothel

Cool!

Can these women be hired to kidnap other people? Like corrupt politicians, brutal policemen, deviant mullahs, dishonest shopkeepers etc?

Re: Students raid Islamabad brothel

if you mean that bunch of thugs can do wat they please, then yeah it is a Pakistani city.

yeah so they kidnapped a person within their communities. how does that make it right?

yeah, even our MMA folks who talk a big talk about Islam have done zilch about it. shameful isn't it?

these ladies have strong feelings about brothels, fine. I have strong feelings against ppl who preach hatred or who dont pay their taxes. So if I go and start rounding up random tax dodgers and sipah sahaba type sectarian mullahs, then all is okay..because ..atleast..someone is doing something about it.

so ends justify the means?

let me help you see..
brother owner, bad, against islam etc... fine
mullah telling ppl to kill ppl of other sects, bad,

see its fairly simple.

I mean hey I dont like a bunch of psycho chics taking over a library and since govt is not doing anything about it, if I go and drop a few grenades in there, then all is okay, cuz gulp someone did the right thing....atleast someone is doign something about it.

:)

Re: Students raid Islamabad brothel

Faisal,

Prostitutes in pakistan, and all through Aisa, are either abducted, sold or born into prostitution. It is a form of slavery.

To this end, I sympathize with the prostitutes themselves, but the brothel owners are the most vile scum on earth, and who need to be shot on site. These sisters need to be praised, but some people seem to hate the religious so much they'd sooner side with a brothel owner.

Re: Students raid Islamabad brothel

you are seeing it in a wrong way because it was done by womens from madrassa, but if it is done by a local women then you would have appreciated it

Re: Students raid Islamabad brothel

While I certainly disagree with the approach of dispatching vigilante justice on the street (its a recipe for disaster and end of civilized world), I think this instance also highlights the lack of trust people have in the law-enforcement agencies. Obviously everyone knows that prostitution and brothels are completely illegal in Pakistan, and still they know police does not take action.

I believe this is just the tip of the iceberg.

In one of my blogs from Lahore last year, I observed the growing chasm between the uber liberal class and the ultra-conservatives in our big cities. While brothels and prostitution are certainly not a new phenomenon (they are a reality of mankind from time immortal), the ultra-conservatives in our society are growing in number, in strength and are getting more strict in their views and how they want to implement their version of Islam over everyone else.

I am not saying what is right and what is not about our society (you can make your own determination) but those who will like to envision Pakistan as a liberal, progressive and advanced Muslim country should worry; and those that want to see a country that is in the forefront of a deeply religious society have much to cheer.

Despite all the hoopla we hear about Musharraf and how he is bringing this new-found "enlightenment" in the country and how vulgarity and western values are gaining popularity; my personal feeling is that while all that may be true. But the reactive forces, the veils, the darhis and the namazis are getting even more stronger. They may not be in power right now, but they have gained enormously in sheer numbers over the last few years. Unfortunately, my feeling is that its just a matter of time, before both sides to the issue start resorting to violence more and more.

Be my guest...have a big race with these ladies, for all I care...but it's a far cry from prefering a corrupt state of affairs. There is a difference between taking the law into your own hands, and breaking it for personal gain.

Yes, all said and done, it should never happen. Round them up, slap them on the wrist...but then what is the greater crime?

Deja vu...ignore the greater evil...just so long as those damn mullahs get theirs...strange.

Re: Students raid Islamabad brothel

Just as suspected:

Here's the details from the horse's mouth (Laal Masjid Maulana on ARY ONE WORLD)

The neighbourhood complained to the police and lal masjid of the illegal activities of some lady. The police decided to raid the house, accompanied by the lal masjid vigilantes I(why..no one knows)

Police backed out at the eleventh hour citing orders from the very top. Vigilantes went mad. Raided the house. Kidnapped the lady, her daughter, daughter in law and a six year old girl.

Police arrested some students of Lal Masjid. Lal Masjid students retailiated and kidnapped four police officers. Two escaped. The lal masjid guys bargained with the authorities with these two police officials (drivers actually).

Admin, as was widely expected, backed down. Has promised to not only release the student arrested yesterday but also release some students arrested earlier.

Further into the interview, the Maulana said similar operations will continue in the future, openly challenging the writ of the state in the middle of the capital.

Nothing surprising there. Move on folks. This story is dead and buried. :)

Re: Students raid Islamabad brothel

its a question of precedence, you let one group take law into their own hands to do 'what is right' and on what basis would you tell other groups to stop from doing 'what is right' according to them.

hey man the poor shias who were kileld by sipah idiots, they were kileld because sipah thought what they were doing what right.

Re: Students raid Islamabad brothel

screw it man.. not my problem. let the state and weirdos do their lambada...
