Hold on showering praises for a while. He still continues to study in Harvard, he should come back to show his genuine motive, else this is all a hogwash.
Might not be needing this scholarship.

I guess this is more of a symbolic gesture, he never said that he is going to return his scholarship, which is perfectly fine. He wanted to show a remorse towards the US attack and that's what he did.

Re: Student refuses Harvard scholarship to protest Mohmand attack
It is show off really although I appreicate his courage for standing up for his believes. He is not shallow like many here who will criticize america for everything but will borad to plane on first opportunity to come to USA or they already live in USA.
If he wanted to make an statement, he simply shouldnot have showed up at the ceremony or protested by informing people in charge and didnot have come. He didnot need to insult the ambassador the way he did. Thats now we treat guests at our home or functions.
Just dramatics. He made a point but so what?
Paki govt is still ruin by the crooks and they're run by the commanders from abroad.
Seems more of a colony now than ever before, with the occasioal emotional stands such as samad's.
Forgotten and not even though about in the whole mess is rge fact that everyone knows good higher education has to be abroad, not in Palkistan. Nobidy even questions that. The word for this mentality in colonial english is coolee.
He made a point --- what did you and I make?
Re: Student refuses Harvard scholarship to protest Mohmand attack
So a student from Harvard whose education expenses are being paid by the US and who was participating in the useless long march also happens to voice his resentment at the same country whose tax payers money is providing him education… ![]()
world of hypocrisy…
Wrong… Harvard is a private institution.
Again, Harvard is a private institution so the tax money is safe. Also, how does the long march come into this discussion?
Sure, but atleast get the facts right.
Re: Student refuses Harvard scholarship to protest Mohmand attack
Harvard may be private, but that does not mean he is not getting federal loans or scholarships.
OK, and have we seen any case where a student has reused to go to a wahabi madrassah due to the 1,000+ Pakistani soldiers they have killed?
same old boring comment. Are you running out of ammo or something?
wrong again
International Students aren’t eligible for Federal Aid, nor Govt. Scholarships
its funny how ppl are making assumptions about this great student!
Re: Student refuses Harvard scholarship to protest Mohmand attack
jehadi terrorists taking shelter in fata have killed 100s of innocent pakistani citizens last year.
since apparently this cartoon is the second coming of rashid minhas, he should now go to wana and swat and criticise the likes of obl, baitullah mashood and ayman zawahiri for buthering innocent pakistanis by the hundred.
now that is a video that will be worth watching.
same old boring comment. Are you running out of ammo or something?
You still don't have any reply to the wahabi jihadis killing innocent pakistanis and committing other unislamic acts.
Well said king_faisal.
So he’s just rich.

Re: Student refuses Harvard scholarship to protest Mohmand attack
It doesn't matter if he is rich or poor. What matters is that he made a bold statement. He condemns those attacks and he protested in a very peaceful and civilaized manned. Instead of bashing him or questioning his finances, we should be proud of what he did.
