Student Protests (merged)

Re: Student Protests (merged)

Students of LUMS were told not to come in front of main entrance while protesting otherwise they will be arrsted. An IT department guy came to recieve a vendor at the main gate and was subsequently arrested and beaten in jail.

LUMS hierarchy has been pressurized not to encourage their students otherwise their university status is in danger.

Re: Student Protests (merged)

Says it all, I must say very effective way to deal with terrorists under the emergency.

Re: Student Protests (merged)

Excuse me !Mushrraf is busy rounding up lawyers , judges, students, politcal workers and human rights activists.

And in the meanwhile 3 more soldiers have died in Swat.

Seems you are watching NFL and rooting for Pak cricket team.

Re: Student Protests (merged)

So you mean one evil more or less. Why bother!? Excellent thinking. NO wonder we have made huge progress from 1974 til now in retaining Jamuriyaat in our state.

Re: Student Protests (merged)

Are you saying that beyond Karachi most of Pakistan are supporters and sympathizers of jihadi terrorists? If so, I would tend to agree as it seems to be the case with each passing day. Talibanistan mubarak ho aap ko.

Re: Student Protests (merged)

karachi is ruled by elected local officials. We don't understand your point.

Re: Student Protests (merged)

Nawaz wins: elections good. Altaf wins: elections bad. Get with the program!

Re: Student Protests (merged)

I am not from Karachi or sindh (never lived there). I support the moderates (political supporters of the present gov) for the sake of stability and taking Pak out of dark ages.

Re: Student Protests (merged)

of course, mafias don't like any other power rising in their neighborhoods.

Re: Student Protests (merged)

Ali Bhaijan, why 1974? Is it easy to forget the Free and Fair elections that were held in 1970 when Sheikh Mujeeb-ur-Rehman won the elections and Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto refused to accept the results, leading to 'udhar tum idhar hum'.

Re: Student Protests (merged)

Hmmm true...par wasn't the Pak Army Rule (Yaya) to be blamed for, rather than ZAB himself? I think our history is full of betrayals. I see this happening now in Europe, which is very alarming.

Re: Student Protests (merged)

Then why are so many people, majority from punjab, nwfp jumping in joy over the thoughts of halwkhor mullahs gaining power?

2 reasons come to mind.

1) The MQM, majority party of mohajirs hates jihadi fitna and thus these people who hate mohajirs have to support whatever MQM hates.
2) They truly believe in jihadi terrorism as a solution to world's problems.

Re: Student Protests (merged)

NWFP has traditionally been a stronghold of Moulana Diesel, though i doubt he will get votes any longer. Punjab has never voted for ethnic or religious terrorrist like you have.

Re: Student Protests (merged)

Exactly...
