1.Muslims who are completely different from the muslims living in Pakistan.2.Kashmiri Pundits ?3.Dards ?4.Sikhs who have been living there for more than 400 years ?
There are some nations who have a 'vision' and there are others who need an issue to get 'noticed'
A Dardic person is usualy classified as a Kashmiri, this included people living in Kashmir Valley, khowars, baltis, brushos, wakhis, ladakhs, kashmiri pundits etc. Kashmiri pundits are just as much Kashmiri as the others. the amount of sikhs in kashmir is neglible. Like I said before, dont mix the Kashmir movement with that of a religious one, its not a religious movement.
*So kashmiri movement is sans kashmiri pundits and other non-muslims who have been living there since time immemorial. You probably know that many of these communities are direct descendents of lost tribes of Israel. Going by that argument even Israel should lay claim on Kashmir. *
Lets compare things a bit:
1. Both Kashmir & Balochistan want Independence - right
2. In Kashmir the journalists can report & write about strikes etc - can Pak journalists do the same in Balochistan - No.
3. Has the Indian Army ever used planes, tanks against Kashmir - No, but pakistan army has been going blasting everything around it.
4. Has any Pakistan soldier been arrested for rape/torture etc (remember the lady doctor!) - No, India whenever anything goes wrong the whole nation voices it's disapproval & the guilty are punished.
5. Has Pakistan ever conducted elections in its occupied area - No (only some Milatary person is incharge there, always).
6. The Kashmiri people are fairly liberal and secular in their thinking, whenever the Pak trained terrorists tried to impose strict wahabi culture - it has been resisted.
7. Kashmiris further know if these terrorists ever gain the upper hand - there would be huge sectarian killings in Kashmir between Shias & Sunnis.
The Kashmiri people are fairly liberal and secular in their thinking, whenever the Pak trained terrorists tried to impose strict wahabi culture - it has been resisted.
.
like i said before, the foreign jihadis only undermine the Kashmiri cause. kashmiri's have ALWAYS been very liberal, you will never see a Kashmiri women in that tent of a thing called burka. And dude, KAshmir has NEVER had sunni-shia sectarian killings, EVER., and never will. For example in Northern Kashmiris the wakhis are Ismaili' shia's and they live side by side with sunni's, and guess what , the sunnis regard the Ismaili shia's as brothers. Liek I said before, Kashmir is perhaps the most tolerant area in our region.
And please dont try to compare Balochsiatn with Kashmir as they are two COMPELTLY different regions with COMPLETLY different problems, there is asbosultely no comparison.
70,000 innconcent Kashmiris(almost all of them CIVILIANS) have been murdered by the indian army. This is nothign short of GENOCIDE, or ethnic cleansing. And i didnt see any Indians vociing their disaproval for the thousand upon thousands of innocent Kashmiri women, men, and children who died.
And about the governemtn etc in Northern Kashmir, I dont think youve ever actually been to Northern Kashmir. The police, government, the military sationed here is almost entirely composed of Kashmiris, not a bunch of outsiders.
Like i said before the Indian troops staioned in Kashmir are losing morale, tahts why hundreds commit suicide each year because of their guilt.
Actually, Balochis have never requested Independance, atleast not the leaders there… Although there are some who do want independace, I thik most would be satisfied with more autonomy.
The problems in Balochistan problem has just started and the govt tends to not allow journalists free access.. As far as strikes go, we all know when Quetta is on strike, the journalists there report things immediatly. This then is no different from how things are in Kashmir. Crimes such as dissapearances have occured in Balochistan, although in Pak, we have found out about them as people have come out with this info… In Kashmir, outside of reporting strikes, how many report on “encounter” killings, dissapearances etc.
As far as punishing the person involved in any crimes, the govt is at fault for not punishing the soldier involved. But things arent that much different in India, some soldiers have been punished, but human rights violations have been going on for over ten years, and how many people have been punished? I mean you guys have yet to punish the people behind the Gujrat riots…
Pakistan only administers Kashmir, its not recognized as an official part of Pakistan, another reason why we want to resolve the issue. Indias elections have been rigged on many occasions and was part of the reason why the freedom struggle started.
Whether the Kashmiris like the jihadists or not is beyond the point…
Fact is that like Ikarhoon said, Kashmiris still would perfer freedom, and if not comlete independance, they would perfer to be with Pakistan.
huh?? thats really funny..i hadnt heard that word in ages..its only people like u who have all the time in the world to research Indian culture and hindus that are keeping the Hindi alive..I m grateful, keep up the good job. and FYI, I m not a hindu :P I hate those Hindutva leaders in India coz they are always dissing other sects and religions but then they are just a small section and everyone hates them in India as it is..so yeah..find something more constructive to do with your life.
Please provide statistics about others who have been killed by these militants.

The MSF survey reported that almost everyone detained, whether legally or illegally, had been subjected to torture. Three-fourth o**f respondents were witness to arrests and half of them witnessed mistreatment.
Sexual violence highest in Kashmir amongst conflict ridden regions
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), also known as Doctors Without Borders, has in a recently published report found that the incidence of sexual violence in Jammu and Kashmir is highest amongst the conflict ridden regions in the world. The Dutch Nobel Prize winning global network also says problems like mental health and psychological morbidity have increased during the past six years in Jammu and Kashmir. Its report says that a large section of population in the state feels insecure and almost 44 percent have reported mistreatment. The organisation carried out a survey last year in Budgam and Kupwara districts. An alarming 11.6 percent of respondents said “they had experienced violation of their modesty” – which is far higher than in other conflict areas such as Sierra Leone (2%), Sri Lanka (2%), Chechnya (0%) and Ingushetia (0.1%). More than one in 10 respondents in Kashmir said they had experienced sexual violence during the last three months. As many as 68 respondents (13.3%) had actually witnessed a rape since 1989 and 26 respondents (5.1%) had witnessed rape more than five times. Almost one-third of respondents said they were so unhappy they were thinking of committing suicide. “Such a high percentage of suicidal tendencies within a population holding strong religious beliefs that condemn the act of suicide is a worrying indicator of the level of despair and hopelessness,” says the report.
The 30-page report says that almost 99.2 percent of people reported having confronted crackdowns and search operations between 1989 and 2005. Some 85.7 percent reported being frisked by security forces. Almost 39 percent reported damage to their property. In addition, 33.7 percent said they were forced to work for security forces, while 18.7 percent said they were forced to give shelter to combatants. In the same period, one in six respondents said they had been legally or illegally detained. The MSF survey reported that almost everyone detained, whether legally or illegally, had been subjected to torture. Three-fourth of respondents were witness to arrests and half of them witnessed mistreatment. Amongst them, 9 percent reported mental problem, while 62 percent suffered from high levels of anxiety. The survey also found a high incidence of physical complaints including headaches (23.5%), body pains such as joint and back complaints (20.5%), and abdominal complaints (16.9%).

Please Mr. DSPATHANIA dont bring religion into the Kashmiri indepdence issue. Its got NOTHING to do with RELIGION. Absolutely nothing!
The people who have brought this religous elements in Kashmir are NOT native KAshmiri's but rather foreign fighters.........
Kashmir indepdence was NEVER about religion, so please stop using that 1 line over and over again.
