Would you allow your spouse to have a strictly platonic relationship with opposite gender ?
Why yes or why no ? You can give any reason , your personal preference , religion , culture , societal norms or what not.
If you would allow it , then would you have some boundaries for it , like they cannot go out to watch movies together or sit on a sofa or love seat together .
But again if you impose any restrictions then how do you consider it strictly platonic relationship ? Aren’t you being judgmental or jealous or doubt the sanctity of this relationship ?
Re: Strictly platonic/pure relationships between a married male and female.
i guess u dont want black and white ans then?
Re: Strictly platonic/pure relationships between a married male and female.
No because it's not possible to have such a close relationship with the opposite sex without either one of them having romantic feelings for the other even if for some time only.

How much black and white you want to be , I said , you can discuss from any angle you want religion , society , human psyche and what not.
Re: Strictly platonic/pure relationships between a married male and female.
you can be [close] friends with the opposite gender, but not best friends. the concept of best friends is a bit elementary school anyways.
Re: Strictly platonic/pure relationships between a married male and female.
can i insert pseudo-islamic half cooked justification for it???
Re: Strictly platonic/pure relationships between a married male and female.
why stop at one? he can have three.
Re: Strictly platonic/pure relationships between a married male and female.
nope, don't agree with the concept of "best" opposite gender friends. Its okay (IMO) to have acquaintances htat you talk to or have some distance with....but physical closeness..no way.
Re: Strictly platonic/pure relationships between a married male and female.
^emotional closeness ok??

No question is stupid , but a person typing away a condescending post without giving thought to a question can be very stupid though.
Re: Strictly platonic/pure relationships between a married male and female.
On a serious note, I want him to be MY best friend, I want to be the closest woman to him in his life (after may be his mother). If he can discuss something with a friend (male or female) but not with me, I *will *feel jealous tbh.
Re: Strictly platonic/pure relationships between a married male and female.
no,
only because i am jealous and it would wreck my marriage coz i would go mad thinking he could have any emotional relationship with a non mehram which could go deeper and closer than mine....

Criticism is, acceptably, indigestible … I agree
Now let’s analyze your post and see how farfetched my criticism was, shall we?
- Define , for me and for the convenience of other poster, word “Platonic relationship”
- Identify , for my and for the convenience of other poster, the ultimate goal of such a relationship
If the answer to my second question is not “intimacy”, I will be humbly apologizing to you, if on the other hand it does mean what you know it does then the world “allow” in your post is nothing but an implied divorce to the very foundation of an agreement that made you a “spouse”…right?
Now how can you allow an act that would result into the demise of the authority that you have to approve an act in the first place?
Thinking......
