Re: Stretching Your Dollar
Make sure local airport is not powering their runway lights with your metered line.
Where do you live? and is this electric + water bill or just electric?
If you indeed don't live in a mansion.
Your neighbour could be stealing from you, knowingly or unknowingly.
Or your meter is faulty, in which case, good luck dealing with a rogue electric company, if it is a monopoly.
Ask some neighbours and compare with their bills.
Re: Stretching Your Dollar
Just called our electric company and we don't have it. :(
Good to know though!!!

Better on Monday than on Friday. ![]()
I called our company I've been meaning to call them but busy. Our province doesn't have off peak rates :(
I have also started shopping for desi groceries and halal meat after two weeks. If sometijng is over gotta wait till the next time we are at the store.
For our fruits and regular stuff once a week and if it's over, its over.
Have applied for a volunteering position at the local YMCA so I can get some free fitness classes.

Re: Stretching Your Dollar
I have read on various places that it is not a good idea to completly turn off the heat but lower the temperature as it takes more energy to start heating the place again. Same for airconditioning.
You're right! I meant to moderate temps to lower consumption for when people aren't home.

I send the husband as well! ![]()
Especially to the fruit farm because A - I hate the rustic feel of the place and B I always buy to much and it rots

TS chup bhi karo ![]()
We try never to order soft drinks. That's where restaurants make huge amounts of profits. We always ask for water or get carry out. When ordering pizza I always bring home and add meat and veggie toppings and use bottled soda. Eating at home is a huge saver.
Stretching Your Dollar
Wow a $1000 a month? Do you have a pool and a very large house? something in your house might be defective. Call your eclectic company and a handyman/contractor to check it out.

Re: Stretching Your Dollar
1000 a month? That's a lot..your husband must be very rich.
Re: Stretching Your Dollar
I think she said her 2 month bill was $1000 so that is around $500 per month. (it is still much higher than our electricity bill) May be they have air conditioning running round the clock in summer and have a large house.
