best face wash i've ever used is johnson's natural line baby bathwash. its also cheaper than buying aveeno or whatnot one. i ran out of mine and used it as it was the only thing around and it takes all the makeup off. i don't use it on the kid anymore though. don't need that kind of "natural" on his skin! :p
we go to costco once every 3-4 months and stock up on the toilet paper, paper towels, etc. it saves us a bunch of money in the long run. go bulk shopping!
also, hello walmart. we try to shop there as often as we can even though its not as close by us, but shopping at loblaws which is down the street from us, is a recipe for going broke. i'm amazed at how much more expensive they are! blargh.
tranquil: pampers are great! huggies suck. we use the pampers cruisers line though, which is a bit pricier, but its always going on sale somewhere- rexall, shoppers or walmart. so when its on sale, we buy the big pack and then wait for the next sale to restock if we've run out.
Its something husband and I discovered accidentally one day but gave us nice savings ever since ! We found out that every friday our local Asda and Tesco have a major drop down price on the fruits and vegies , this happens close to 10ish in the night .. strictly until stocks last .. they try to get rid of the fruit and vegie that is very close to its expiry date .. husband now plans to go around that time and we manage to picks up some freaking brilliant fruit and veg for the entire week, all in pennies at times ! its worth knowing when your local store does the shelf clearing ..
You don’t need deodorant. Just use milk of magnesia.
I read it in the paper and tried it.
It works ten times better than a deodorant stick and 10 times cheaper considering how long it lasts.
Just pour some in a small $1 flip-cap plastic bottle and use that.
For toothpaste, for God’s sake, if you are gonna forego it , at least use a mixture of baking soda and sea salt and dip your toothbrush in it and brush.
You still have to buy floss and tongue-scraper. You can’t skimp on that.
When you take your family to fast food restaurant and drinks are free refill, always order just one small coke for the whole family
That's a no-brainer.
When WILL the restaurants get smart about desi behaviour on that ?
How do you like it when everybody reaches for the glass at the same time and there are hurt feelings when you have to take turns and you miss that instant when soda is desired in your mouth ?
For those who were wondering about diapers and if you are in the US (or Canada too maybe),Luvs are really good too. They are pricier than store brands but cheaper than Pampers/Huggies.
Huggies always leaked and I never used them but once I switched to Luvs around the time my daughter was a year old,I just used them.
I used to get them at BJs wholesale and they almost every month have a $5 off coupon on Luvs and that helped me save a lot on diapers.
Another thing is some stores offer their credit cards and you earn rewards when you use them.
The wholesale club I go to offers one and I have one.It is a Visa card and can be used anywhere Visa is accepted.I use it for everything and even pay my utility bills with it (I pay my CC in full before the end of every billing cycle so works perfectly for me…no interest incurs). The reason for me doing this is to accumulate reward points. When I get 3000 points,I get a $30 check I can use at the whole sale club.I usually get 4-5,thirty dollar checks in a year and I have waked out with diapers, formulas, and paper towels etc without having to pay anything,at times…

I said buy one cup, I did not say that you should not pick up 4 straws :D
^Automne I am not too sure about stores in Canada.
I know Target has such a card where you get 5% back on all purchases, but Target is not in Canada.
I was talking about BJs wholesale club and I think that isn't in Canada as well.
You guys have Costco there. Why not check their website (or the sites for the stores you usually shop at),to see if they have any such offers. It might be little but when the savings add up,it is always good...!!
I think Walmart offers a credit card too but their rewards are way too little (atleast in the US) so not sure about it.But you can check them too.
Aldi is good.! My massi shops nowhere but aldi here in the uk lol.!

What brand was that, if you don't mind me asking? Huggies seems a bit too pricy for me, and everyone says pampers isn't leak proof.
Doubt it would help u unless you live in scandanavia?
Toujour and vibelle
And whaaaaa???!!!!! Aldi exists in USA too??? It has the best milk and bread...and medion is a great brand too for all electronics selling in aldi. They get pretty cool things in the housing dept...quarter the price

automne, do you have an air miles card? if not, an rbc avion credit card gives you a point per dollar and if you're using it regularly, instead of your debit card, and pay it off each month, then a) no interest, but more importantly b) lots of points. my brother and his wife flew to new york on their points! another friend has two flights to australia and back waiting on her points card, but you can also redeem it on other things. look into that!
also, shoppers drug mart has an amazing points card- i've redeemed at least $100 worth of free stuff from their points and they're having anniversary events right now so they're offering lots of points on certain things. man, i love that card.
Thanks sgc I am gonna look into the points for every dollar spent card. I thought air miles takes a long time to build points also is the shoppers drugmart card that good, I have their points card
