Strange request - need cartoon style picture of a dulha and dulhan

I’m not sure which forum this message belongs in but this seems the most relevant one.

I’m looking for a cartoon style picture of a dulha and dulhan for cake decorating purposes. It’s my parents wedding anniversary coming up and I have found a brilliant bakery who can decorate a cake for me beautifully. A while ago I saw a range of desi greeting cards and one of them was a wedding anniversary card with a cartoon style dulha and dulhan which we all found pretty funny. Stupidly I didn’t buy it at the time and now need a similar picture to give to the cake decorator to work from :frowning:

Brilliant!

Am looking for some pics that are purely drawings rather than ones containing photography since it has to be a picture that the sugarcraft person can make on a cake. The fourth link contains a picture along the same lines as the kind on the card that I saw although the artwork on the card was more 'cleaner' if that makes sense.

Hi Brit Chick,

I’ve searched quite a bit on the Internet typing terms such as “dulhan clip art/animation/drawing, Indian bride clip art/drawing, indian bride and groom cartoon”…BUT i’ve found very little. The few drawings that were available are only of brides…no grooms! I found one bride and groom picture on a wedding card. Here’s what I found:

Since you want the bride and groom to be cartoonish, I have an idea. Why not use Disney characters such as Jasmine and Aladdin as the base?

Here’s what you do. Just print out a drawing/picture of Jasmine. Cut off her body, so that you only have the head/neck. And then just draw in a choli and lehnga for her. Attach whatever you need to her. And do the same for Aladdin. I’ve included some links below where Jasmine is dressed more Desi and where she’s wearing a dupatta, so it’ll make it a bit easier for you.

this is from a desi coloring book and i’ve used this website to do decorations for garbas, weddings, mendhis and what not they have lovely henna designs as well

You guys are fantastic, I never managed to find a single thing when I searched online. Have printed out a few of the ideas given and will see which is easiest for the cake. Really wish I hadn't left things till so late in the day - and also wish I had bought the card too :D

Btw guys, this is very similar to the kind of image I actually wanted (just a desi bride and groom version obviously)

Brit chick check the link below. Me and my family always buy our cakes from this place, they are the best and i mean the best. They also make cakes for A list celebrity Bashes and so on, thay are based on Sydenham road, Sydenham. hope it helps…:slight_smile:
