Researchers estimate that your brain gives off about the same amount of electricity as a 60 watt light bulb. So, there’s some truth to the image of a light bulb going on when someone has a good idea. :D

Natural pearls will melt in vinegar.

Roughly 1% of static on an analogue TV is light from the beginning of the universe.
Its incredible really, that is light from 13.7 billion years ago, just arriving to us. Deep.
Wasn't the universe created 10000 years ago?
Re: Strange Facts
Very informative - learnt a lot today
Re: Strange Facts
Studies have shown that glucose enhances memory so it might be a good idea to have a snack (with carbohydrates) while studying.
Re: Strange Facts
What?! No mate, what have you been reading ![]()
The age of the universe has been estimated at between 13-14 billion years, most likely around the 13.7 mark I quoted earlier. And there are scientific methods that have been used to determine this number. Also, think about all the things that have happened in the world. Think about the evolution of life and the planets. This stuff is too deep to just happen, even in 10,000 years. If you want, I’ll post up how cosmologists and the like have come about the age of the universe.
Re: Strange Facts
Where did you get this?
It’s not a fact, it’s a theory. The spewing out of matter you mentioned is thermal radiation not actual matter. Contrary to popular belief, black holes do not exactly suck all matter, there could be actual collisions.

Re: Strange Facts

Normal to you might not be normal to me. So define normal.
Re: Strange Facts
^ As far as I have heard regardless of the size of the paper it can't be folded more than 7 times.
Re: Strange Facts
Naah, Mythbusters did an episode. That’s why I asked kHaLiL kHaN fAaKhTa bHaIjAaN for clarification. I love Mythbusters!

Re: Strange Facts
Tokyo has had 24 recorded instances of people either killed or receiving serious skull fractures while bowing to each other with the traditional Japanese greeting.
Re: Strange Facts
That’s awesome, I used to watch that with my brother although some of their busts are pretty lame ![]()
There was this one episode about rain and if you get more wet running in rain of walking. Apparently you get more wet running in rain?
Re: Strange Facts
I know! One of the most entertaining/educational shows. I still watch old episodes sometimes ![]()
Well they tried to make it as interesting as possible I suppose ![]()
Hmm I don’t think that would be true. That would depend a lot on the nature of the rainfall (‘Density’ and direction?)
Re: Strange Facts
Precisely my point, so not all of their busts can be taken as facts. Although the paper one cant be denied eh?
