i hate bad timing :disgust:

my cycle is crazy, but of course it has to come at the worst time

i’m going out of town tomorrow and my period started today

if i took the pill today, any chance that the period will end sooner or is it now that it;s started its not going to end until its ready?

i tried to find the answer online, but i couldn’t

From what I heard, you're suppose to take it before so that it can stop the monthly cycle. I am not sure if it will once the cycle has started.

That the pill the day after your period ends. Don't mess with your hormones, there's a reason our periods last as long as they do.
Mess with it too much, and you risk uterine cancer.

All I know from people conversation that one should take red wine (i.e if you can/allowed to take them) it helps to make the blood flow faster and have a shorter time period of the cycle, so say some people have a cycle of 10 days and it finishes around 6-7th day. its just that you don’t have to prolong it to that long. hope this will help

Taking regular GNC vitamins (Women Ultra Mega) helps regular ur periods as well...atleast it worked on me!

btw ladies, i guess i took it in enough time b/c i did stop it by taking the pill despite the initial spotting...

I am pretty dumb when it comes to such deep thing about girls...my mother hasnt told me anything regarding all these things..so i want to know, why would anyone want to stop their period on purpose like isnt that harmful? or make your period abnormal? :s

teelo, nope, stopping your period isn't as harmful as people say... i looked it up on medical sites and the general consensus is that theres nothing really wrong with that. and if you're on depo-provera, the birth control that is injected into you once every 3 months, and protects you for 3 months at a time, thats how it stops pregnancy... the extra hormones stop your period from having so theres no uterus lining for the egg to attach to, hence no pregnancy.

Oh ok...i thought she is not married and she wants to stop her period, any harm in doing that i mean stopping period before marriage i.e intercourse.

OMG SGC. Depo Provera caused my infertility. Its there actually in the literature about it - fine print of course. But it causes infertility in more women that they'd care to admit. Shuts down your ovaries and hence their production of necessary hormones. And a good number of women are not able to overcome the shutdown. STAY AWAY from this drug!!!

Its a very bad thing to interfere with Mother Nature. She dont like it and WILL get even!! Cycles are supposed to be just that - CYCLES!! Let them happen, let nature take its course. Screw with it and it will screw with YOU!!

one of my aunts took something to stop her period since she was going for umrah.. till this day she tells us that was the worst decision of her life and that shes still suffering.

I know someone who did that b/c she was going for hajj. That's not something u can do just any other time, so i can imagine why they'd b concerned. But other than hajj, I don't see any reason to mess with a period that's "normal."
