President Zardari changed his tone towards US. A tactic to survive or he is really speaking the language of his countrymen?
WASHINGTON: In an unusually harsh article published in The Washington Post on Monday, President Asif Ali Zardari blamed the United States for the present mess in Pakistan, claiming that Washington used his country as a ‘blunt instrument of the Cold War.’

Dancing with terrorists as Pakistan did is what caused the curremt chaos. USA dancing with the dictator Musharaf was a consequence of that.

You guys forget something very important. US relations with Pakistan (until 9/11) meant aid and regional bases; since then it is based on aid and war on terror (front line state, remember?)
US relations with India are based on commerce and that is two way. Indians provide IT, BPO services to the US; US gets to sell (and now manufacture) planes, industrial machinary, weaponry and Hersehy chocolate to Indians, in addition to providing a potential foil for China.
There are two other factors, God given to India - the foot print on Indian Ocean and the hugely diverse population inside the most vibrant democracy in the world - the standing proof that neither poverty, nor religious divide need to stand in the way of people's will. Whenever dictatorships give the excuse that democracy worn't work in their country due to poverty or their religion is in conflict, the USA and India take great pride in pointing out how it is done.
You should really be wondering why it took uncle sam these many years to warm up to India - I personally think it is more than partly due to Indians cozying up to NAM and USSR

don't worry, as I have already pointed out, the basis of Indo-US relationship is very different (trade) as opposed to US-PAK relations (aid and WOT).

Ohhh seems like I stepped on your tail, have your head examined as someone said its empty. Go sever as a counter balance to China that is the gist of the 1st world and 3rd world relationship, but that would be too complicated for an empty vessel

lol okay its not related to the topic at all but when i was reading about BanTaleban's post, where he said something about 9/11, reminded me of something funny.
I called an institute in US for some membership etc. And the guy there asked me my credit card details for the fee payment. I gave him the number. Then he asked me whats the expiry date of the card. And guess what , lol ... it was 9/11. while telling him i realised what i was saying " Nine Eleven" ... made me almost laugh.. but i controlled, hope he didnt feel it in my tone :D

You know we are not Marrasies, it is unique honor which is enjoyed by Indians, so please don't have us for out little knowledge of Salsa kind of stuff, ( earlier i thought it was some Italian or Latin word) now, being an Indian it was typical reply from you, yes i mean without any sense into as sensible answers or discussion is something Most of Indians do not understand, and you are amoung the majority.

Nalaik, if you refer this to Zardari, to tum se barha koi Nalaik nahin hay. What he has said no dictator dared to say such thing. In the political history of Pakistan, one was Bhutto and now Zardari, who dared to criticize the policies of Uncle Sam towards Pakistan.
People who has any doubt about mental capability of Zardari should now get their brains checked. What he said niether NS nor Imran Khan even think of saying that.:)

There is something really fishy behind this statement and we would see the fruits (poisonous ones) in coming days. The glimpse was the killing of 45 people in drones attack yesterday and more to see in the near future. May Allah swt protect us all...
Remember US and it's allies has to maintain their killing rate (Terrorism) in Pakistan which is about 50-70 people per month and to achieve that, they would do everything, from bombings in the mosques to hotels and the easiest one is to send in their drones and bomb funerals.

if Zardari says something positive to the USA he gets criticised for being a traitor. If he says something against the USA (such as this case) you say something is fishy. what has he as your president to do to gain respect?
Same thing happened when he wanted to meet with Manmohan Singh - some people screamed for being subservient. And if he doesn't do that other scream for doing his job.
you have to admit it takes quite a bit of newly acquired guts from anyone in Pakistan government to criticise the USA openly. For all his smarts, I don'r recall Musharaf ever doing that
