sticking to a job

whats the longest u’ve been employed by the same company or stayed with them.. assuming it was ur decision to move on, not theirs?

prior to this job, i used to think 2 years was a reasonable amount and before that 8 months was perfect

ive been with this current employer for almost 4 years, and ive just bout had enuff…

been with my company for just over 2 years and its more than enough

in market now a days :)

but i think 18 months - 2 years max if there are no further growth opportunities with in the same company .

My father in law has been with the same Law firm for over 38 years

My longest stint was 4.5 yrs.

My current plan is 5 years. Then no more work.

^ thats ages.. i think my dad's been with his current education institute for about 14 years.. or maybe even more

im not moving up in ranks anywhere, not that i care.. im just tired of the attitude and immature competition

i plan on retiring in 2-3 years

since the age of 12 to 23 years old i had over about maybe 30-40 different employers and all sorts of positions i have held :) longest job i ever held was 4 months which is current job and plan to quit in a month time to go back to school :)

i doubt id be getting married anytime soon.. and even more doubtful my hubby would let me stay home and cook

for me it's not long...only one year..

i really need a new job

if after 4 years ur still getting told off for petty lil things.. i think its about time to move on

but whose gonna employ me with the lil experience i have :(

I´ve been with my company for 6 years now. I have thought about job changes sometimes, but so far I am quite satisfied with the progress I am making within the firm.

i worked for like more than 2½ years n in same office , btw i just resgnied last month and not looking for a new job ...

The longest job I had was from age 16 to 21. After that, it all went downhill. I started switching jobs every year. Now, I figure I should stay where I am for a few years cause it looks bad on my resume, my leaving after a year. :bummer:

7 months is the longest. smile

current job been in for 3 years. I would have left sooner, but I dont want to appear unstable on my resume. Once you "outgrow" a place, its time to leave :D

I have been in my current job for a year now, and I have had enough, I force myself to get up and go to work.

Mehnaz... i dont think it looks too bad on a resume.. prob shows u like change

i think i outgrew my current position about 2.5 years ago.. i havent moved up in experience at all.. theres nowhere to move to!

I have been in my job for almost 6 years, I dont want to leave. Maybe if I want a change, I will look for other positions within the company.

Plus If I leave myself, I am loosing some of my benefits that we recieve after 3/5 years.

My first job out of college was an entry-leve one…a good opportunity…and I ended up being there for about 3 years. To answer your question, the longest I’ve been at a job is where I am currently. I’ve been here a little over 4 years now but am actively looking around at this point (now that I have an MBA) for a better opportunity elsewhere.
