Fry 1 large onion and 1 tsp. zeera in oil.
Cut 1 lauki into small pieces.
Chop a 2" piece of ginger.
Add 1 and 1/2 chopped tomatoes to onions.
Add salt, red chilli powder to taste, and 1 tsp. haldi. Fry for a minute.
Add the lauki and stir well. Cover and cook on medium.
Stir a couple of times. Done.
Chopped cilantro.

yea karhi in which we use yoghurt , besan (gram flour) , turmeric powder, cumin seeds , mustard seeds , Fenugreek seeds (Methi) , all those red and green chilies and Asafoetida (Heeng)....
bas pakooras ki jagah ya can use lauki :D

I see. But do you make the kofta type pakoRas with the lauki or do you just cut up lauki and cook it in the kaRhi? Sounds yummy...

well just peel the lauki and cut in small pieces ... thats all no kofta type pakooras in it :)

No, the water in tomatoes is enough. And lauki releases water too. This lauki was fresh. You may have to put half a cup sometimes.

my mom makes a lot of vegetables like this...just the basic spices and masala of onions and tomatoes....including lauki(aka kuddo or gheeya too)...
