Starting salary

Re: Starting salary

people it depends in which industry and most importantly in which organization you are starting your career. My first job was with City Government of New York starting pay 72k may 2008 - now long forward to today i miss all the benefits of being a government worker. apart from excellent health benefits, matching 401k, annual vacations, sick days, unscheduled holidays, federals holidays, 18 credits for university reimbursement & 10% annual pay raise ..... heck even Geico/ATT discounts were over 20%, count the savings.

I miss my days in government :(

Re: Starting salary

^ Right. A couple years ago, my salary was almost identical to hubby's. But I was near the cap for my industry and he was near the base for his.

Re: Starting salary

my wife can match my salary because of being able to speak three different languages, but she opt out saying she wanna spend a day shopping & cooking :crying:
women have choices. They can be married, not married, have a job, not have a job, be married with children, unmarried with children. Men have the same choice we have always .. had either prison or work.

Re: Starting salary

^Yes, some women have choices.

Others have to do it all. (Or want to do it all)

Re: Starting salary

I have yet to land a “real” job  but my first job was minimum wage and it increased a bit every semester. And all I had to do was sit and do nothing (well relatively…as opposed to antoher min wage job where I HAD to work and stay on my feet, 8 hour shifts etc).
