Re: Starting salary
So it shows doctors have the lowest starting salary in Pakistan. Which is so sad. Even for that matter here in the UK too.

Re: Starting salary
**really? in the UK? oh…i’m surprised to hear that.
in Canada, it’s great but i suppose less than what a doc would make in the US on the average. my niece is gonna be a psychiatrist in June, inshaa Allah, and she has just been offered $250,000 as the starting salary for 3 day’s of clinic and 2 days of research work. she is gonna be finishing her 5 years of residency in June. so, i think it’s pretty good salary, especially at the beginning of one’s professional career. alHamdolillah.**

US and Canada have very attractive salaries. Am talking about foundation year/housejobs in the UK and Pakistan. They have low salaries as compared to IT professionals, engineers etc.
But obviously once they go higher up figures increase alot too. But the sad part is not everybody can end up being a consultant. and by the time you are one that means a good 10-12 years have passed
Re: Starting salary
Yeah this I am not answering. No way in hell.

Why not?
Re: Starting salary
Because every time I do people look at me funny and stare. Its like my age. People find out how old I am and they just get quiet.

Re: Starting salary
It’s true. We as a couple have struggled a lot for the first 7 years of our marriage and his job…only few years ago things have started to become easier and people assume we were born with a silver spoon in mouth. ![]()

starting salary for a newly qualified doctor in the UK is around £32000. Its probably similar to Canada I suppose with the conversion rate. I dont think professionals like doctors have huge pay difference in USA, UK and Canada.
Re: Starting salary
A friend of my dad's runs a private home care business so he employs doctors etc and according to him doctors in America make a lot more than in Canada. I have a friend in med school and he confirmed the same thing. It probably depends on the specialty but we were talking about GPs.
