If anyone here’s a fan, wanted to know if you know of some homemade recipe that’s atleast half as good… I’m SOO craving it right now but there’s too many recipes out there to know which’s good..
Re: starbucks chai latte..
I haven't had starbuck's chai latte.. but did try Lipton's Chai Latte sachets..they are good...bit too sweet, but not bad.
Re: starbucks chai latte..
Just get a pack of loose spiced tea.
Or make your own by mixing black tea with cinnamon, elaychee, cloves, etc.
I think it's brewed with the milk, and there is a LOT of milk. I've made it at home and it's yummy!
Re: starbucks chai latte..

Re: starbucks chai latte..
Hey Sahar02.. share your recipe please. I don't think it's just the spices.. everytime I watch them make it, I always see the guy reach for this container that reads 'soy milk'... so I'm still waiting for anyone who can gimme a tried and tested one for this one!
Fraps from where poppies?? Stars??
Re: starbucks chai latte..
^ I don't think it's made with soy milk. But they have premade/prebrewed it and they just heat it and stuff.
Re: starbucks chai latte..
off topic....but Starbuck's strawberry cream frappuccino.....mmmmm.....yum!
Re: starbucks chai latte..
i'm actually drinking it right now! i bought the $4.99 concentrate because i figured it would be cheaper per serving than buying it in store. It tastes JUST like the real thing. The ingredients of the concentrate are: water, black tea, black pepper, cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, star anise, cane sugar, honey, ginger juice, natural flavors, vanilla and citric acid. So if you try to add all these things it'll taste like the real thing. However, the 'natural flavors' seems like a coverup for some secret ingredient. so maybe it will be a good replica, but not a copy. let us know what you make. this $5 carton is cheaper, but still a ripoff!
Re: starbucks chai latte..
stupid questions, but where from jalebi?? Starbucks?? (i mean ive no idea if they sell a concentrate for their chai latte..) And if they do.. that is awesome! I don't really care to make it from scratch.. just wish to have it at home. So will get the concentrate then :)
Re: starbucks chai latte..
Yeah they have a carton by the checkout, it just looks like the carton milk. It says Tazo Chai Tea Latte Concentrate. It's like $5.34 including tax, a lil pricey, but worth a try.
Re: starbucks chai latte..
sahar- can you please share your tried and tested recipe?
my husband LOVES the starbucks chai latte! i've tried making it at home, but didn't taste like starbucks.
Re: starbucks chai latte..
jalebsss.. good stuff. will grab that on my next visit. and sahar.. really. we're all waiting here :)
Re: starbucks chai latte..
You know what I did the other day, cuz I was craving it? I heated a cup of milk on the stove and put the loose tea with spices in it. I used about a tablespoon of this premixed tea I have. It's by "Republic of Tea" and it's called "Republic Chai." It's a mix of cinnamon, assam and darjeeling black tea, orange peel, ginger, coriander, elaychee, star anise, cloves, and black pepper. I hadn't even brewed it separately, just let it all cook together and stirred to release the flavor. Once it was nice and hot, I added a teaspoon of sugar.
It was lovely :D.
It's the first time I've just cooked it all in milk. Usually I brew that tea like normal then add a lot of milk and the usual teaspoon of sugar.
Starbucks uses a lot of milk and sugar.

I've had that before, I think -- I think that might be the same type of thing they use. How was it?
Re: starbucks chai latte..
So I had it this morning to see what the fuss is all about and I hated it! It tasted like cinnamon overload, something Im not a fan of ![]()
Re: starbucks chai latte..
Are you guys talking about the actual hot drink you get from starbucks, or the chilled bottles you get at the grocery store (which are pretty $$$!)??
Re: starbucks chai latte..
I tried a recipe from online the other day and it tasted just like starbucks chai tea latte! Atleast i thought it did.
Heat up milk with brown sugar according to your taste. IN a seperate pan, boil and simmer some water and a tea bag with whole garam masala like a peppercorn, a tiny piece of cinnamon stick, ilaichi, laung etc. Let this simmer for a while. Then take out the masala and tea bag and combine with the milk. I think the key is to not let the tea and masalas simmer in milk since that would make it stronger and bitter, mroe like desi version of chai. This way it has a lighter taste.
I dont think i am ever again going to buy it from there, its so easy to make.
Re: starbucks chai latte..
Latte is just steamed milk...lol
Re: starbucks chai latte..
you can just buy the concentrate if you want an exact replica
