NO it was lahore based private play on-aied in 1999 (most probably by usman-zulfiqar), the story was based on selection of heir for the entire property of rani maa (played by uzma gillani). Shahid(film actor) played the role of uzma's son and married two ladies at a time; sawera nadeem and sadia imam and then story moved to 20 years later with battle of ego and pride. Rest of the cast included: kashif mehmood, arbaz khan, roop, mohsin gillani, veena mailk & ayesha khan (debut of both) etc.

Don't remember the long play you are referring. Do you remember long play 'Maut se pehle', where Uzma Gilani played a cancer patient and her daughter played by Arifa Siddiqui thought that her mother was involved with some guy. In an interview, Uzma Gilani told that in her career, she liked the performance of Arifa Siddiqi as a co-star in that play. The drama was later remade where probably Saba Hameed played the role of Uzma Gilani.

yes maut se pehle was a great long play, though i dont remember saba hameed's version but one with uzma gillani and arifa siddiqui was superb.
Apart from drama serial MAA she worked in another zulfiqar sheik’s drama Khaali Ankhein where she played the role of mother whose son(talaat hussain) left him to settle abroad.
Is she related to Noshi Gilani (famous Urdu poet)? I heard in her interview that she belongs to Saraiki belt. When she was asked how could she have such a beautiful diction and accent of Urdu, she told that her mother tongue Saraiki made her to speak Urdu in such a clear way. Her accent as Afghan refugee in Panah, feudal land lady from Potohar in Nasheman proves her point.
