Srilanka vs. Pakistan *2nd Test match April 03-07, 2006*

**Srilanka vs. Pakistan

Series: 2-Test series level 0-0

2nd Test **

** Venue:** Kandy

** Date:** 3 - 7 April (In North America 2nd April 23:15 pm, Due to time difference)

** Time:** 23:15pm GMT-0500 (Central Standard Time).

I hope I have got the schedule, venue and details correctly, if not correct in your post:naraz:

The 2nd test will be interesting since both the team have struck form with the bat and bowlers are doing well provided if the pitch support, Pakistan is most likely to make couple of changes, if M. Yousef is fit he will replace Faisal Iqbal, sad but it will happen I think and Umer Gul might be replaced by I. Rao or “Taya” Arshad Khan

Re: Srilanka vs. Pakistan 2nd Test match April 03-07, 2006

needless to say Make very good use of Cricketnama :smiley: you will get frequent updates on the scorecard

Re: Srilanka vs. Pakistan 2nd Test match April 03-07, 2006

i doubt that they will give Rao a chance for test. If Rana is not able to come back maybe Gul might get one more chance. Taya Arshad will be a sucide :grumpy:

Re: Srilanka vs. Pakistan 2nd Test match April 03-07, 2006

Visibility

Thursday = poor
Friday = very poor
Saturday = poor
Sunday = poor
Monday = poor

What's the wait? Let's bring Sami back...

...Not that the batsmen will be unable to read his deliveries, but it will help in Sami's vision as he will not be able to see which parts of the ground is he getting hit at. With the quantity of ghanee zulfein hanging from his head, the giant scorecard will fail to help refresh his memory, either. A perfect timing couldn't be far away.

Re: Srilanka vs. Pakistan 2nd Test match April 03-07, 2006

:hehe: I know that, if they look at the history of the ground they might go with Gul or both, as this pitch traditionally support to pace bowlers with extra bounce. but in the first test they shaved the green grass so the pitch should not have more bounce, seam and swing, perhaps that will play a role as well

I dont think so Rana will make in time.

Re: Srilanka vs. Pakistan 2nd Test match April 03-07, 2006

I hope this rest will do some good to him, I dont see we need any replacement at all Sami Rao or Gul are pretty good and with Asif good form they can be provide good support role.

Re: Srilanka vs. Pakistan 2nd Test match April 03-07, 2006

Speaking of Rana:

  • Quickly raises his hand as a helper *

Re: Srilanka vs. Pakistan 2nd Test match April 03-07, 2006

there is no news in the "The news" or "Dawn" and neither anything on Cricinfo or mention of Rana's wife during the test, I take that as a +ive sign and hopefully Mrs. Rana is getting better day by day.

May Allah give them courage and patient during this hard time.

Re: Srilanka vs. Pakistan 2nd Test match April 03-07, 2006

there is some bad news last time Pakistan played here “Taya” Arshad Khan got 3 wickets in the first innings :smack: thats not a good sign at all.

Re: Srilanka vs. Pakistan 2nd Test match April 03-07, 2006

Going by the originality of the match which was played almost five years ago, can we also plan to bring back Mushtaq Ahmed? At least then we don’t put Inzamam under a dilemma of bowling out the entire Sri Lanka side for under 200.

Re: Srilanka vs. Pakistan 2nd Test match April 03-07, 2006

IMO this should be the team:

  1. I. Farhat (hopefully will not make the same mistakes).
  2. S. Malik (Will carry on the same form and play well and bowl better)
  3. Y. Khan (will frustrate the lankans with his cheeky play[s] get good score)
  4. M. Yousef (Will carry on from where he left)
  5. I. Haq (Boy[z] will convert 40’s into 100’s insha-Allah)
  6. A. Razzaq (Perhaps more efficient with the ball)
  7. K. Akmal (Only thing to say is that he is: Chota Jadugar)
  8. S. Afridi ( might be replace Rao due to pitch condition but I doubt it)
  9. U. Gul (needs to bowl a tad bit better)
  10. M. Asif ( this pitch will certainly support his good form :k: )
  11. D. Kaneria ( needs to get more luck and a little more innovative)

Due to pitch nature, Rao can play a better role * I think* but lets see, what happens

Ok ji.

Re: Srilanka vs. Pakistan 2nd Test match April 03-07, 2006

I thought he was the bowling consultant :p what happened to that :D

well the idea obtained is from the statistics and we all know our coach Uncle woolmer is a fan of that.

Re: Srilanka vs. Pakistan 2nd Test match April 03-07, 2006

Don’t we all wish that? over n over n over again.

:insha:

He will definitely frustrate someone, either Lankans or us :stuck_out_tongue:

Re: Srilanka vs. Pakistan 2nd Test match April 03-07, 2006

He’s already dead meat brother. And hence we lived happily thereafter! :frowning: An utterly bad joke from someone I must say…:snooty:

Re: Srilanka vs. Pakistan 2nd Test match April 03-07, 2006

... We need to allow him to keep his magic wand (bat) with him while he's keeping for his jadu to work... keeping pay jadu nazar nahi aata

Re: Srilanka vs. Pakistan 2nd Test match April 03-07, 2006

We dont have any other choice do we, either butter fingers or Mr. crazy pull/hook get out guy.

Insha-Allah this time around it will be Lankan's

Re: Srilanka vs. Pakistan 2nd Test match April 03-07, 2006

Hopefully his jadu will be back, its not easy to do frog hop ever ball for the 5 days, but he has done a good job which can always improve :k:

Re: Srilanka vs. Pakistan 2nd Test match April 03-07, 2006

as much as i respect Rao, i hardly belive he will replace afridi ..with inzi as a captain, i am almost 99% sure !!
