Why would we want to replace Afridi all of a sudden?

Re: Srilanka vs. Pakistan 2nd Test match April 03-07, 2006
^ Vaisay hee... mood ho raha hai, change karnay ka. :p
I think the primary reason is that a lot of people wanna see BOTH Iqbal and MoYo play.
Re: Srilanka vs. Pakistan 2nd Test match April 03-07, 2006
And Afridi is stuggling with bat. Here are Afridi’s scores so far on the tour:
2, 2, 1, 14
and his bowling in this test:
1st innings: 1/6 (2 overs)
2nd innings: 1/57 (27 overs)
We’ll be better off replacing him with Yousuf and use Malik as 5th bowler.
Re: Srilanka vs. Pakistan 2nd Test match April 03-07, 2006
why not drop Younis Khan instead :-|
:D
Re: Srilanka vs. Pakistan 2nd Test match April 03-07, 2006
This can easily be termed as the silence before the storm! Keep him in the side coz a big one is coming ![]()
Re: Srilanka vs. Pakistan 2nd Test match April 03-07, 2006
^ True. His career batting average is 38.9 and his average in the last 10 tests is 47.44. Not that statistics can be relied upon all that much anyway, but just thought you'd find it interesting, along with the scores of 2,2,1,4, just to keep things in perspective.
Re: Srilanka vs. Pakistan 2nd Test match April 03-07, 2006
Oops.. well the "true" was for Ganja uncle, but Kaptain saab ke liyay bhi chalay ga.
Re: Srilanka vs. Pakistan 2nd Test match April 03-07, 2006
Jee. Yahan per aajaayein. :)
I would very much agree as well. Yousuf and Iqbal both in the same team are positioned to be on a greater scale than replacing either one while keeping Afridi. However, how many times have we seen Yousuf or Iqbal on the bowling end? Since Afridi is an all-rounder option that we have on our hands, we can use his services in both departments, rather than entirely relying on one side of things. I would personally prefer to have them all in one team, if there were to be a third option. Although having an interest in Kaneria as a specialist does not strike as odd in tests, I would rather replace someone who is terrible in the field and is not handy when it comes to stopping the flow of runs. Afridi is not only an option we have in both batting and bowling departments, he is one of the best fielders in the side. Chances are that if he fails to produce runs and/or pick up wickets at regular intervals, he will single-handedly stop those speed rocket-flashy cuts fielding at the risky point region, whilst constantly chirping in praise at his teammates. A 3-in-1 washing machine.
Re: Srilanka vs. Pakistan 2nd Test match April 03-07, 2006
^ read my post ....... drop Younis Khan !
Re: Srilanka vs. Pakistan 2nd Test match April 03-07, 2006
Though I am in favor of dropping both Inzamam and Younis and instead, get Mohammad Hafeez as a replacement. :p
Re: Srilanka vs. Pakistan 2nd Test match April 03-07, 2006
dont forget Tauffy Umer :p

C. Vaas has said he wont play in the 2nd test match as he want to be fully fit for the England tour.
Re: Srilanka vs. Pakistan 2nd Test match April 03-07, 2006

Re: Srilanka vs. Pakistan 2nd Test match April 03-07, 2006
Seems like everybody wants to be fit for the England tour. *Log Pakistan sey bahir nikalnay ka shauq rakhtey hain, magar koi Amreeka nahin aana chahta. *:D
Re: Srilanka vs. Pakistan 2nd Test match April 03-07, 2006
Rana will not be called back for 2nd test. Umer Gul will play.
Re: Srilanka vs. Pakistan 2nd Test match April 03-07, 2006
Gul wasn't that impressive in this test match, his line and length were off. I say give him another chance to prove himself in the next test.
The Moyo and Iqbal dilemma is quite intruiging. Surely Afridi must be feeling the heat. He has had a terrible run not just in this series but throughout the Indian ODI series. As Ramiz Raja noted, his body language isn't as fiery as it used to be, I hope all is well with Afridi.
Knowing Inzi, I don't think there will be any changes in the team except Moyo coming in for Iqbal. Tough break for Iqbal but if he continues to perform like this, at least he can be assured of a position post WC 07.
Re: Srilanka vs. Pakistan 2nd Test match April 03-07, 2006
why so much hate for Arshad uncle?
Re: Srilanka vs. Pakistan 2nd Test match April 03-07, 2006
Jang is reporting that Abdul Razzaq injured his knee while fielding, and there is a slim chance that he will play in the next test. So I guess Yousuf will come in for Razzaq.
