Some Facts for the logically challenged posters here:

  1. There is CCTV footage because that street is not a "chullu galee" but a street with posh shops where relatively well off people shop. There is no one there because anyone who has been to such shopping complexes in Pakistan would know that they only open around 11 to Noon time. This was before 9 AM, so nobody was there. Obviously, the attackers knew this and likely used it to hide their getaway bikes.

  2. There were TWO vehicles - A luxury bus for the Sri Lankan players and a small VAN for the umpires and officials. The "sitting ducks" comment refers to the VAN. It is the Van Driver who was killed and the van was stopped in the middle of the road until a police officer got in, threw the body of the driver out and drove it to safety after about 30 minutes of firing. Don't blame the people inside the van for lashing out because when you are stopped in the middle of the road and bullets are going everywhere, you really are a sitting duck. Most of us would have felt that even one minute is too late for police to respond, let alone 30 minutes without knowing when to get out or if firing has really stopped.

  3. As explained above, the driver of the Sri Lankan bus acted bravely and drove away fast. But the van with officials was less lucky - this may be why Chris Broad and the other umpires felt that they were let down. Sri Lankans had a different experience and umpires had worse terror, so their reactions are opposite.

So guys, let us not get carried away by blaming either our security forces or shouting at Chris Broad. Our forces clearly saved the Lankan players but there was also a clear lapse with the umpire van and those guys had the longest 30 minutes of their lives, so let them vent.

thank god atleast nabeel gabol was able to say that loud and clear , actually problem with these enlighten moderation politician of pakistan like altaf bhai salman taaser ,rehman malik is they want to erase islam from pakistan, they wud blame it on some madarsaa kids or some deeni jamaat so they can hav right to raid madarsaas , arrest ppl n all
even they knew it clear its india's involvement but they wud take it as an opportunity to make it an islamic terrorist issue,
we cant blame india for anything b/c our own ppl are not sincere with our county, even the moderate mullahs are inacceptable in societ n ppl want to turn paksitan in a non islamic state.

That information is coming out if one is to believe the police. Even if that information is wrong, it's looking at history that will tell is who conducts 95% of terrorism in pakistan.

The dress comment was just a rejoinder to those who were saying the same of the mumbai attacks and using their lack of beards, look and clothes (red dhagga on wrist) as a means to reveal their identity. Many pakistanis still use this logic to try to deny reality.

can u tell me how many moderates were killed, were attacks on musharraf terrorist attacks or self inflicted ones, benazir first attack was also inflicted 2nd was due to husband and party loyalty changes,
plz name one enlighten moderate pakistani dying in comparision to ppl abducted , arrested or killed from so called islamic extremist groups.

Majority of pakistanis are moderates, so in majority of terrorist attacks by your talib warlords, moderates die by the hundreds. Beghairat talibs attacked and killed 70 moderates on attack on POF Wah factory workers. They killed 40 moderates on attacks on Dargai army recruitment center. All 6 of those killed in Lahore attacks were moderates.

I suggest you look up definition of moderates by talib standard and not make one up yourself. To be clear, by talib logic, anyone working for government is moderate or murtad and it is ok to slaughter them like animals. And don't try to deny reality by claiming that talib terrorists are the victims when they are the attackers in all cases.

I can't stop being amazed at Al Quaeda and LeT. How come when the whole world is chasing after them, these terrorists manage to survive and continue inflicting attacks at both military and civilian targets frequently? The resources on the government side to search find and destroy these outfits are almost limitless yet this happens!

Nobody went after LeT before Bombay attacks. Even today most of their leadership is intact. Their capability was never in question.
