Since nobody was replying to my query, I decided to find out on my own:
I picked the styles from The Pakistan Fashion week which was held in early November 2009, at Karachi showcasing upcoming trends for spring / summer 2009. Here’s what I noticed most:
Long shirts are still and will remain the rage. The fitter version of long kameez from 2009 will make its way into 2010 along with the newer lose version, especially those with kaliyan. Anarkali dresses and pishwazes are here to stay.
As for embellishments, it seems like ribbons have been overused, I didn’t see them in any of the photos from the Fashion Weeks. But there are still ‘stripes’ at the daaman. These are funky fabrics instead of ribbons.
Front open shirts will stay on top this spring / summer, however you can add more layers to all your dresses.
Belts and tie-back style shirts will also continue into 2010
Colors: WHITE, White and more White! I love white in summers. It’s beautiful, cool and graceful. Other colors seens on the ramp were a fresh green, turquoise blude, beige and gold.
Dupattas are a thing of yester years. Hats replace them.
Re: Spring / Summer 2010 Trends! I decided to post them!
thanks! im lookinf forward to this summer, and i hope we go to PK cuz i want colorful clothes!! and an anarkali! and lol why are dupattas not IN anymore
No idea!! But even last year a lot of people were wearing these really long kameezain, especially front open ones without dupattas! to me it looks wierd. A dupatta is part of a shalwar kameez, right?
