It’s time for me to get started on spring cleaning. The problem right now is lack of motivation. Everyday I think I’ll start but then laziness takes over. Is there anyone willing to start up with me here? I don’t want it to take forever, a week to the max, possibly earlier but of course everyone can schedule to their own convenience.
We can list down chores that we need to do and share tips but most importantly stay on track and get it done. So let me know if any of you is interested.

Oh i am totally in for this one. Just today I was thinking I need to clean everything :( . I need it do it also because Hubz and I taking our first vacation soon. And I don't want my house to look messy. This is what I want to to clean and I want to take a day to clean each:
Kitchen
Bathroom
Living Room
Bedroom
Closets
And then Laundry (no not your everyday Laundry... every single thing in the house gets a dhulai .. comforters, towels, mats etc.)

Spiral, I am glad you've put kitchen first. Let's start with it. Chores that come to my mind are:
Cleaning/ organizing Cabinets
Cleaning the white-items which in my case are : Oven, Refrigerator, Washing Machine, Microwave and some small electric appliances (blender, kettle,toaster,food processor)
Cleaning the exhaust fan and window + Kitchen Bin
Add anything else that you have in mind or subtract something that doesn't apply to you, for example if it's already clean or any other reason.

I am going to start with Garage and Laundry room .. I am sure wife will do the other rooms.

Good! do you use your garage for the car or it’s mostly storage? If later then it’s going to be a huge task right?

see my philosophy of stored stuff is ... for 80% of the part, if you have not used it in last 6 months and no plans to use it for the next six month, its going to donation or trash.

Everything in my kitchen from the counter to the cabinets are white.. lots of work for me there.. I do clean my stove everyday after cooking though. I could be better at organizing the cabinets but I am too lazy

Reha, my mother does that too.. I was always throwing out clutter when I was unmarried but now that I have a place of my own I am afraid I am turning into her a little :no:
Me too spiral..but I do organize them once in a while..just one by one takay meray nazuk kandhoun per ziada bojh na paray 
I clean the stove daily too but it’s the oven part that gets neglected. Every time I clean it I promise myself I’ll be more regular but then get lazy… plus it’s fixed with a small gap on the right and things keep falling into that. I have to get help to take it out and clean in between, maybe on Friday.
I am cooking a lot today so I’ll be luck if I can do just one item..lets see.
Oh yeah i do have couple of spoons in the gap btw the counter and the stove. ha! and some behind the stove too.. lol. That’s not my concern though. They can sit there forever. Cleaning under the sink is my major problem .. YUCK!

hehe CB you are shifting shortly so no point in wasting energy, save it for your new place.
I can't believe it's day1 and I am already full of excuses.. Only got the glass top of oven done and then lazy again..and it just took 5 mins or so :o
Btw Spiral or anyone else, how do you clean your kettle and toaster . Mine are white and can't run 'em through water obviously .. normally I use the regular kitchen cleaning spray to just wipe it clean. Is that enough or there are other ways?

I hope you stand your toaster upside down for all the crumbs to fall out of the toaster 
… I do that every few days and get amazed at the quantity of the crumbs that get trapped in there 
From the outside , I just spray the cleaning agent on a cloth and wipe the toaster with it

yea CB..so much rats’/ roaches food there..:no: mine has a sliding thing at the bottom, I just take that out and empty it occasionally.

I'm missing my home masi...I cleaned before I left but not the thorough cleaning I was aiming for .. I can only do so much at the moment... I wish I was there to clean it even more....
My toaster has the slider thing too but even then do what CB says.. there are tons of crumbs left inside...
I tip the toaster upside down too … then I vaccuum the counter.

farrah..it’s just that with the change of weather everything feels like opening up..you know summer after winter feeling and so I feel like freshening up everything..cleaning, de-cluttering etc.. Maybe it’s just change of weather that brings the mood
