It will probably take me a month to do my spring cleaning since I have to tackle it on weekends :( but I also want to get started with the kitchen, I already organized my cabinets since I could do that easily in the evenings :D
So I have a question for you ladies.... how do you clean the greasy exhaust? Mine is built-in under the microwave and its super greasy .... its the steel mesh thing, I dont know what its called :o.

Well seriously, if you can take it off, maybe use the same spray that you would on grills etc.? I have no experience of it though, so I am not sure.

^^lol, great idea... I've been thinking about it for a while.... will probably hire a cleaning lady to clean the house, but I myself need to take care of the re-organizing and de-cluttering .... waisay I like cleaning, its fun :D

what’s the best method of cleaning the built-up grease on the stovetop hood? is there anything you can use other than the chemically smelly products that are out there?
the best part of spring cleaning is when the weather is warm enough to open all the windows and let the fresh air in. i loves it!

^Have you tried Mr Clean magic eraser, I use it regularly to clean the grease on the microwave and my stovetop, as well as grease spots/splatters on the wall behind my stove.... they come right off.

Yessss, I am waiting for spring so I can open all my windows and garden door and clean all day. I'm also waiting for more energy so I can actually DO the the work. I love spring cleaning, thankfully hubby does too :-D

would that work for the grease? i know it works great on marks on the walls and stuff..but built on grease as well?

i dont know what’s it called in english, but i use this thing called “vloeibaar schuurmiddel (met bleek)” … (anyone knows dutch better?)

it’s a thick white substance
it get’s rid of grease that has stuck so bad, so easily, it’s crazy … i cleaned my exhaust just a couple of days ago after like 4 months maybe … and it looks brand new …
maybe it doesnt smell to good for some people, but i personally think it smells fresh and sterile.

It is actually for general cleaning and scrubbing and it's really good!
