at Kanha Shyam Retaurant in Allahabad, i saw this guy eating Burger with a fork and a knife…i’m sure he didn’t get the real taste of his juicy burger because he dindn’t sink in his teeth in it!

I use fork to eat mangoes, because I don't like the juice dripping down my elbow.

I prefer eating roti with just my right hand, but if I'm sick or anything small pieces soaked in salan would go down easier.

I prefer eating rice with spoon, but if there's no spoon(usually at a funeral here in Karachi) I just use my hands, just can't give up free food.

Dealing with a tough 'boti' can get a bit tricky when you're eating in public, that's why I prefer eating at home, where I can unleash my fury on the food.

If I'm in dawat or someone else place I wouldnt try anything which is tricky,
Like once I was visiting a Hindu friend,they served Idli, I didn't know how to eat it so didn't take it :D

No I detest using spoon, fork and knife, while eating saalan with roti.

I can eat daal chawal with hands and I like people who have courage to taste their fingers after they eat food with hands

Observed some people trying to copy western culture and eating even Roti with fork

One of colleague was having chicken salan with roti and there was no need to use fork, but he kept on moving boti with fork to dip niwala in saalan (No, I don’t stare people while they eat. Its just something abnormal that got my attention)

I think zindagi ka maza zindagi ko 5 ungliyon se chakhne main hai. Whats your views on this issue?

I havent gone through the entire thread so dont know whats going in here, but just after reading your post, I reminded of an incidence and feel like sharing.
Long time ago, We, a group of about 12 friends went to Pizza hut to celebrate a birthday party of one of our friends. Pizza was served and we all started eating. I first took a bit with knife and fork, felt uncomfortable. All of them were having it the same way.. I think the Pizza was pretty stiff that day but sab ki chhurion kaanto ki awaz aa rahi thee… Since I felt uncomfortable, I kept my fork aside and picked up a pie from hand! ate it! Just then, one by one, everyone did that.. What I want to share is, isme sharmany ki koi baat nahin hay…hath se khana to wese bhi sunnat hay, bus badtameezi se na khaya jaye, ke khana girr raha hay, plate main apni taraf se nahin khaa rahay ya plate p agar kisi ki nazar paray to lagay ke salan boti ka maleeda nikla hua hay… !! Mairay is aik amal ne sabko wahan comfortable feel karaya… agar main bhi sharam se fork knife ka sath khelti rehti to door nahin tha wo waqt ke kisi ka pizza urr ke kisi ki plate main chala jata…guli danday ki tarhan Pizza ya to waqai stiff tha ya I remember because hum gifts kholnay main lagay thay to wo thora thanda ho gaya tha

A similar thing had happened during uni with me , but it was biryani and we were a group of 6 girls , everyone staretd eating spoon se and back then I despised eating with a spoon , so I announced that I’ll eat with my fingers
and slowly each and everyone kept the spoon down and started eating fingers se.

I feel, hamen apnay Customs, Traditions ko kabhi nahin bhoolna chahye!! I see in UK, bangali are speaking bangali, punjabi are speaking punjabi, multani speaking sairaiki, aur pata nahin kitni languages jo main nay na kabhi suni na kabhi…suni… but most of the pakistanis feel shame speaking in urdu!! I met a girl at shop.. she seemed to me an asian and belonging from India or Pakistan, I just asked her and she said yes, I am from Pakistan.. just after hearing it, I started speaking with her in Urdu, although initially we were speaking in English and we could carry on with that too but it seems good when you follow your customs!! She felt happy too…!!
