split personality

Are schizophrenia and split personality the same thing?

I think I suffer from it, I even argue with myself, have mood swings, it’s driving me nuts, I feel I don’t belong any where..

don’t tell me I need a psychiatrist coz I know..

first google the definations of split personality and then do the same for schizophrenia then ask that question...

:o

Got jinn?

No they are not the same. Having mood swings does not mean you have either one of them. Dont diagnose yourself with such harsh things. Tell us more about yourself and we can probaly diagnose you.

Please for the sake of god do not rely upon the prognosis of guppies.

I agree with hiccup

i don’t

Shut up

Yes, guppies are wierd :bummer:

Naadir, My imaginary friends thinks ur a retard.

This makes perfect sense.

If you had replied to your own post, then we’d have known for sure innit. :bummer: Now we don’t know.

Schizophrenia is hugely serious ..this one lad at my uni had it. HE always seemed zonked out and talked about how he'd had kala jadoo done on him and his lifeline was 'kat' and stuff. Seem him lately and he's half the lad he was..

Khair, that's not to say that being zonked out and talking garb are pointers of schizophrenia. I'd google it, and chat to my GP. There was a time in my life when i used to feel like Gollum but my GP rolled his eyes and told me to get out of his office. You might find that they don't take you serious enough...like this thread shows. But i'm sure if you do have a problem they'll help.

And if nothing helps then ring MIND. It's an organisation for people who suffer from mental illnesses or think they do. Could help :)

DD..u used to feel like Gollum?!!

thats the funniest thing iv read all day...bless u chick

Naadir..everyone talks to themselves, whether its thinking out loud or speaking out loud, thats not a specific attribute of schizophrenia. Your probably just stressed out about something/s. Asking people who don't know you and will have probably never met you in person will not give you an understanding of whats wrong with you, especially a psychological problem. You should go see your doctor.

And it's not even a joke :(

I watched LOTR 2 and thought i was going bonkers. But Alhamdullilah i've sinced moved from mental illness to homesickness :D

maybe your just bi-polar

Actually Would a transvestite classify as a split personality?

Not that you are Naadir, but got me thinking.

actually there r 3 things: split personality, multiple personality disorder,
and schizophrenia.

split perosnality is wrongly taken to mean schizophrenia, and its proper pysychological name is multpiple personality disorder.

and as for MPS, half of the body of psychologists reject it as a proper medical condition, whilst the other half tend to accept to it.

it tends to be a very severe condition, where people often have personalities not aware of each others existence.

schizophrenia is a different thing, the category of all three is known as
"disasociative personality disorder"

(beware i aint any shrink, but got aghast at the lack of info of ppl here)

There there my friend…No need to be so down…Split personality or bipolar disordered people never realize they are psychologically ill…So if you can analyze yourself and be worried about it, that means you are OKAY…

You are just going through a tough time or something…Relax and be at ease…Allah :swt: will ease all your troubles…:flower1:

Kill yourself now for your life is now worthless…You have become sick in the head and there is no cure…It’s ok…Shooting yourself in the head doesn’t hurt…:2guns:
