Schizopherenia is not part of the dissociatitive personality disorders. I think there are a few disorders that are considered dissociative disorders which include dissociate fugue, dissociative personality(split personality), dissociative amnesia and a few others that i cant remember. Schizopherenia is a disease in itself and it has its own characteristics. Its pretty common, i think 1 in 1000. They hear voices and talk to them., These voices tell them to do things and usually its the family and or friends that would know when a person has schizophrenia as the person gets isolated. There are alot of other symptoms.
In dissociative personality the person has two different personalities and the person does not know about it. You can see fight club and the person in that has dissociative personality. If you want to see how an actual schizophrenic looks like you can see A beautiful mind.

okay i lookd it up..........u r right, schizos are not part of the clusters of personality disorders..........thanks for correcting me............tho its true, that ppl with MPS often get misdiagnosed with schizophrenia, like some other personality disorders......... :)

Yeah you are right about that. People often mix these two with each other, even though they are very different. MPS is very, very uncommon though. Schizo is pretty prevalant.
An interesting thing about schizo is that it affects every population at same rate. So there is no effect of socioeconomic status. But the most interesting thing about is that it is more prevelant in people that are born in winter months. So the scientists were trying to associate it with some infections, even though no contributing factor was discovered.
