I always wonder how my colleagues who take the same salary and benefits buy new car models and change their furniture so frequently.
I have analysed that i spend lot more money on food stuff and kids education than my colleagues.
We eat lots of fruits, vegetable, meat and milk products. Plus Begum does not compromise on quality and likings of kids or rest of the family. We bring three types of bread home, brown for Mom&Dad, white for us and rolls for kids. 2kgs of milk, 2 kg Laban and 1 Kg youghurt has to be brought daily and has to be fresh (not long life). Fruits are also consumed in large quantity. Only me usually eat 2-3 apples, 2-3 bananas, pears and a glass of orange juice daily. So do Mom, Dad and kids.
Many a times there are 4 foods being cooked simultaneously in the kitchen. One for the two older kids, one for me as i totally avoid oil, a regular one for wife and Mom/Dad and one for the little one. Usually Begum cooks three times for the kids, rice at noon, fried meat/chicken in the afternoon and roti/pasta at night.
Sometimes I do that but usually I cook one dish a day if kids don’t like it then I make them something different. And yes there is lots of milk and fruit in our house too. Here is our milk quantity 1 gallon milk 2 % for myself,2gallon whole milk for my son,and 6 or 7 bottles of shamrock choclate milk for my hub and daughter everyweek. My fridge is usually loaded with milk. Our whole family love fruits so yes they come in large quantity too.Making roti is common whenever kids want you have to make it and in dinner especially I make only roti.

I wonder how do you people do it?
i dont know where u live but what i see ppl doing here is that they buy almost everything (apart from groceries) on Credit Cards! and lead a life of stress, stress and more stress bcoz the interest on not paying the loan on time is huge... australia faces a big problem as far as that is concerned.
Alhumdulillah it is good that you guys eat a lot fruit... we do too... but i know way too many families that dont !
just for me, my dad buys 17 kilo waale watermelon... i do share it... but most of it is mine!!!
Haha
Never. By the way, i think the smaller ones are better, large ones get parts of it rotten.
no they dont... i am a qualified watermelonologist and i can confidently say that the larger the better... you just have to tap and detect the good from the bad :)
I spend too much on clothes!!! Every month I promise myself I won't do it...but I always end up going to the mall and stuffing my wardrobe with clothes I hardly wear!!! I wish I could get into savings!
p.s: I luuuuvvvv watermelon as well! The fresh watermelon juice they have out here is just awesome!

Very very bad of you. You are wasting precious resoucres on earth.
Your doctor and pharmacy's reduced bill will compensate it! Good keep it up.
Haha
Well, this is compensated y increased awareness of abnormalities/diseases and hence the bill still remains high. Everyone in the family sees a specialist instead of GP. If kid gets cough, he goes to chest consult, if abdominal problems to gastroenterologist etc.
Eating fruits makes a big difference! My newphew hates fruits so much so that he even does not drink water from the fridge if fruits are inside. He is dull, scrawny and slow in studies. My niece is very fond of fruits and she rarely falls sick, intelligent, active and gets goods marks in class.
