Speeding ticket

Re: Speeding ticket

I am not sure where you are (what does BK means....?). Anyway, if you are in US, in addition to Akif's suggestion (he sounds like 'been there done that' :-D), a couple of suggestions. Most states (if not all) have defensive driving course that you can take. For example you can take it once every 18 months, and it ensures you don't get points on your record for the first offence.

Secondly, and this is fairly cheeky, and not guaranteed to work, whatever the fine is, send them a check for 2-3 dollars more (so, for example, send them a check for $278). What they typically do is to deposit your check and then send you a refund check for 3 bucks. Don't cash that refund check. Sounds stupid, but until you cash the check, your case file can not be closed and hence the offence is not transferred to your records. I know, it sounds rediculous, but I have people swear first hand that it works. No harm in trying though. It only costs 3 bucks. And if it means savings in your next insurance bill, its probably worth it.

Good luck.
