Mars colonization may require Earth soil.

^I have come across other similar articles. Don’t know about its authenticity or what the recent updates regarding the safety of living on Mars are, but here are some thought that come to mind:

You’re asking how zakat will be paid on Mars when the 6 billion bucks it will take to fund this…cough…1-way trip to Mars could be used to help needy people already suffering on Earth. Hajj: If hajj and umrah are so dear to a Muslim, then I imagine they wouldn’t take up a venture that would never allow for this possibility. You’re so concerned about implementing the 5 pillars, however Islam also states that our bodies have a right upon us. One whose health is impaired shouldn’t fast. And you’re talking about deliberately placing yourself in an environment that poses serious health risks that would make daily living a challenge much less fasting. And when is this mission to start? About 10 years from now? What guarantee do we have that we’ll be alive 10 hours from now? Right now, we are blessed with an environment that makes it easy for us to observe most of the 5 pillars and in general we don’t strive to make maximum use of it, why worry about something so far down the road?
