Re: South Asian Union
I would like to see model muslim state in Pakistan first, we can think about it after it is established in pakistan.
but nepalese work in India as labours, Gurkha regiment is full of nepalese citizen, no requirement of visa if an Indian wishes to visit nepal
what is your intended sarcasm?
it is not so easy, all countries need similar power structure, EU is political union, India needs political reform where power is more decentralized, Pakistan on the other hand needs a parliament which is not afraid of its millitary, Nepal needs stable democracy etc, we need FTA first, economic union and finally political union. we need politically well aware people who at least can set right priorities
millitary should be inside barracks but their should not be misfit between strategic community and military like that of in India, secondly I believe every country should have powerful deweaponized right wing which talks about nationalism .erodgen of turkey is right winger leading a secular country, BJP is political arm of RSS and they did try peace with Pakistan, lahore bus journey in 1999 was their initiative, a country also need leftist who talks about social ideas in capitalistic economy and a poweful constitution which can bind all of them fruitfully together. whether partition was right or wrong is irrelevant now
India wasnt united even then, we had fault lines in our unity and that is why british ruled us, they used those fault lines to gain power, Ideologically both Pakistan and Bangladesh were similar but finally they parted their ways.
It is only muslim majority region bordering pakistan, an unfinished part of partition of India
the kaur - I try not to be sarcastic. I was just being silly. If my comments were insensitive to the Andaman and Nicobar folks, let me know and I will delete them. I just picked a place that I am only remotely familiar with. (I do know that prisoners were sent there - but this was not a slight on them).
