Win or lose is part of the game but if they put up a good fight tomorrow I will be proud ofthem, Go Pak and stuff the SA's especially racist bigots like Nel. The team is without their leading five players, Gul, Razzaq, Malik, Yousef and Shoaib. With them there we would have stuffed the SA's.

Mate, this game was lost (realistically) by the inability of Rana or Nazir to take wkts. The 213 partnership between Prince and Gibbs cost us the game.
The batsmen posted 300+ on each occasion, what more do you wish?

Anyone know any updates on the real condition of Gul, I really don't want to see either Rana or Nazir in whites again. Razzaq and Malik aren't in the squad I think, so apart from Akhtar and Yousuf, I don't anticipate any other changes in the team.

SA is already struggling with spin and playing in a tentative way.
I am sure if 1 or 2 key wickets fall today in the beginning, Pakistan can win the match.
Pakistan's lower order must be complimented for getting the additional 100 odd runs which is a real decisive fator now

Pakistan has little chance of winning this test...but nonetheless, a great fight by our tailenders. This inexperienced team has put up a much better fight than the legendry one's which have visited SA previously. Also, with the return of Akhtar and Yousuf and possibly Gul for the next match...its only gonna get better.
I was hoping Faisal would prove his doubters wrong it wasnt the case. The guy has previously played in SA so I was thinking he might have learned a thing or two. But it seems like he is just not good enuff at this level. He is a flat track and A team bully like his counterpart Hasan Raza, Misbah.

Even if Gul is not fit, Pakistan will be better off with Sami and Akhtar for Rana and Nazir. Inclusion of Faisal was not a good choice in first place especially if Asim Kamal is also in the dressing room.
Pakistan would have been better off playing Asim Kamal, not because Faisal is not good enough, only because Asim could hold one end and could bring right and left combination in the middle order.

if kaneria cant get wickets here i think he should be axed.the wicket is turning square here even hafeez has a chance to get wickets.if pakistan loses this match they only have themselves to blame,it was not just the performance but the selection and the team management which did'nt go right.u leave out your best fast bowler and then cant find him a flight to get there in time for the first test.even a half fit shoaib would have made the difference here.

I am afraid the news is not that good, the ground was hit by heavy showers in the morning hours and at the moment even though the intensity of the downpour has subsided, it's still drizzling. There is another 45 minutes left for the scheduled start of play, the wind speed is picking up and the locals say that might help lift the rain clouds that are looming large over SuperSport park. The umpires have said that they will wait for the rain to stop completely before they decide on any time frame. So time to get those fingers crossed, watch this space for further updates.

Waise, I agree with comment above abt Kaneria. I don't expect him to win us the match, but he should definitely get a few wickets.
Oh, and not including Shoaib is absolute BS. Him opening with Asif could've made all the difference.
