Cricket is a funny game. SA were struggling to even make 150 in India but they have now amassed 600 plus at home

Amla who looked out of sorts in India helped himself to a double hundred.

Amla struggled even in first test, he probably got his rhythm back in this game

A wise decision. I said it during the India series that Amla should resign the test captaincy of SA. He maybe a good batsman but he does not come across as someone who can motivate the side. What's more captaincy was clearly affecting Amla's batting and since he was in such poor form with the bat himslef, he was struggling to lead the side in the field. AB De Villiers should be made both test and ODI captain. Captaincy does not suit everyone. Other examples of very good to great players who could not handle test captaincy pressure: Botham, Sachin & Gower
