The second test is underway. South Africa should take a 2-0 lead. But nine of the matches have been one sided. In the last test Saha our LBW with ball grazing outside EDGE of leg stump. This test Rohit LBW first inning with ball grazing bails. BOTH umpires call. Game of inches.
First test - Saha given out. Ball scraping outside of leg. Umpires call. Umpire from England or Aus.
Second test - Rohit given out. Same as above. Umpires call. Umpire from England or Aus.
Tbird test - Rahane given out. By Ian Gould. Bowler Morne Morkel. Same as above. Scraping outside of leg. Umpires call
watched all 3 test matches highlights. my 2 cents, indian cricket future overall looks healthy and in the right direction. their biggest problem has been fast bowling but they took all 20 SA wickets in every test match. that is a big deal. bottom-line, south africa did not really dominate india in any test match the way i thought and then lost the last one. if india did not score 300 or 400, their bowlers did not let SA score 400 or 500 either.
credit goes to kohli. fearless leader who performs. yes, emotional but he wants 200% from everyone. had india selected bhuvi and rahanae in the 2nd test match, who knows. india may have won the series.
The umpires stopping play with 20 min to go was advantage South Africa. Next day the pitch behaved much better. I am no expert. Heavy roller was used. Is this allowed? Asking out of not knowing.
Hashim Amla showed his class in both innings. Once he got out, the Indians found a way to knock off the rest. With Elgar remaining unbeaten.
As phoenixdesi said, Rahane and Bhuvneshwar should not have been dropped. Hardik Pandya is neither a very good bowler nor a very good batsman. Ashwin probably would have been better. Especially with uneven bounce, he might have had a party also.
Mohammad Swamy appears to be second inning specialist. Bowlers performed well this series.
Murali Vijay played out the end of second day and the entire morning session of third day, Yorked by Rabada in the last ball before lunch (5th ball of over). That set the state for others to follow especially Rahane. Kohli batted well in this test, silencing his critics including yours truly that he has yet to prove himself overseas.
The forst tes could have gone either way. Saha given lbw on ball that kissed outside of leg stump. Second test same to Rohit. Both by English or Australia umpire.
Aleem Dhar umpires well. Ian Gould gave Rahane lbw on a ball that just kissed outside of leg stump. He did not give the last South African batsman a caught behind luckily drs saved the day. First test Saha
in in a game of inches the English and Australian umps have been giving The inches to South Africa. What else is new
I happened to watch highlights and this last T20 completely. And I can assure you that I’ve not seen any worst South African cricket team than this. So many dropped catches, misfields, extra balls. The batting side is same way too.
On the top of it totally dead pitches where Indian bowlers were bowling super slow balls which were coming like almost in two bounces to the batsmen.
Now it doesnt take anything away from the victorious eleven. So indian fans are legit to celebrate. Afterall its still a win
On their fastest wickets the Indian fast bowlers kicked ass. Their batsmen kept appealing for play to be stopped for the day. While Indian batsmen took it on the chin and other places and ploughing on. So re slow pitch or fast pitch, India took SA to lunch on their fastest pitch in the third Test.
I would love to see their “fast” pitches. So far what I’ve is complete flat and dead ones and as said earlier, indian bowlers were putting 5 out of 6 balls in a over in almost two bounces.
And one can easily guess the quality of SA batsmen when Suresh Raina is bowling like top tier bowler.
