I have not read the posts made by many people over here supporting or not supporting this decision. But I feel the same thing that where is the guy with whom the lady is assumed to have committed zina with ? why nobody is trying to catch him and also punish him ? why do men get away with zina and women donāt ?
On Saturday there was this drama being aired on GEO TV , where the maulvi gave the verdict for the woman to be stoned. She had just given birth. I didnāt watch it from the beginning so I donāt know what really happened but the drama showed that a woman who wanted to stop the stoning narrated an incident from Hazrat Issaās time when a woman was about to be stoned to death and Hazrat Issa said the person who will throw the 1st stone has to be absolutely sin free. He should not have done any gunnah in his life. Off course there was none .
People are very quick in giving women saza / punishment because they say that she spreads fitna .

no. if it doesn't make SENSE to you, doesn't mean it's inhumane. i don't know the details of this case, nor do i support iran on any issue but on the issue of this law, it's there and you or anyone who think it doesn't make "sense" can't do anything about it. live and let live.

Adultery is consensual, and adulterers do not go rape because they can't find a person to get busy with otherwise. There are many reasons people commit adultery, and it's not for you to judge as to why they do it-- because you do not know.

Show me evidence that those who commit adultery are more likely to commit rape. The 2 have no connection. You've connected dots that don't exist to justify barbaric behavior. What looks good and makes sense in your head doesn't play out in reality, in short you've been played by those who taught you.
Furthermore punishments proscribed by the Quran require evidence. The focus should be on the evidence not the punishment. Unless the prophet himself is providing the evidence of adultery it will be presented by man, who is tainted with error, bias, and prejudice thus the evidence required by the Quran to carry out such a punishment of flogging for the crime of adultery is rare.
Why are you so concerned with the punishment rather than the evidence?

if you want to discuss these acts (whihc you are referring to barbaric actS) why don't you try to refer to those "criminal" stats and compare them between the countries which are following 'em (lets say Arabia or IRAN) and which are not following 'em (lets say US). you will get clear numbers which will tell you the criminal rates of these countries.
if you are arguing on the fact that its barbaric then you gota listen to the other story as well. this way of punishment will actually give others a lesson of not doing this act (I am not talking whether this woman was culprit or not .. this all together another topic) .. how many of you actually get afraid of the "punishment" of killing someone? we just heard that the killer would be hanged by death .. but do we ever feel it threatening? unless we see something like that?
Its just like when a child do a mistake in a class so he got punished right infront of class so that other class know what they will get if they try to do pranks or don't complete hteir homework. Why don't you go and tell ALL THE SCHOOLS in the world that when a child does a mistake, take him to some other room and then give the punishment and bring him back? Does that make sense?

@ Someone who tried to relate islam and science. Let me make few things clear which most of the people do when relating islam with science
- Keep these things apart from each other
- If you really want to relate these things that make sure you have the depth of science and the depth of islam to understand things. you can get the depth of science but getting depth of islam, you can't get it .. :) .. ..
- Our brain has been limited to the imaginations and knowledge which is bounded by this "world" boundary. We can't understand things beyond our imaginations. how come you ever understand things in detail of islam?? though the easy things are well enough proved by science, but understanding the depth - difficult.
All of those who are associating stoning & other punishments as biblical, I am really not sure about that but I know those punishments were orginally from Torah.
And the big question mark is how 'flogging' turns into stoning to death???? Human error & misinterpretation as per their malfunctioned brains? I thought Islam was supposed to be a religion based on common sense.

Some laws are unjust, as well as the punishments. Nothing was philosophical about what I wrote. I merely pointed out how atrocious your statements were. You call murder beautiful. If this is so just, you would take your children to watch the murder of a woman? Would you make her children watch, since it's justice? Would you laugh and smile as you broke her flesh and watched her blood pour out? Would you be the one to tell her children that they are now orphans because you killed their mother?
