So let’s say you and your good pal are getting married around the same time. You get your wedding day outfit before hers and show it to her. Later, you find out that she’s copied your design and has an almost identical replica made for her wedding. How would you react?
Re: Someone stole my wedding dress idea!
OOOOH I'd be mad.
Re: Someone stole my wedding dress idea!
But what would you do?
Re: Someone stole my wedding dress idea!
i dont really see what the big deal is... doesnt bother me that she has the same dress
Re: Someone stole my wedding dress idea!
There's really nothing that you can do at this point; it's a wedding dress so it's not likely she would change anything (maybe you could if you can afford it :S). That's a low blow coming from a friend; there is some validity to keeping the dress a secret in the modern tradition I guess. Don't share any of your other major ideas with her if she's a copycat. Most importantly know that the dress doesn't make the bride, the bride makes the dress; you and your friend will probably still look different :)
Re: Someone stole my wedding dress idea!
in our family a wedding dress is something which everyone will ask..dulhan ka dress dikhao , ..infect people give mubarak baat when the bride order her dress or get her dress...
i will be really upset if my friend did that to me. i couldnt do anything i guess
Re: Someone stole my wedding dress idea!
I wont be too happy with her ,but I dont think so I will 'do' anything. She will wear it her wedding and I will it wear it to mine. Both events will most likely have an entirely different set of guests (except for a few common friends maybe),so IMO it does not make a big difference.
Just my 2 cents...:)
Re: Someone stole my wedding dress idea!
Best thing to do, if possible, is to move your wedding day at least one day before hers
Re: Someone stole my wedding dress idea!
If she hasn’t had her wedding yet, I’d “accidentally” spill something vile on her dress…something that even professional dhobis can’t get out…like nail polish. Then I will try to cheer her up by telling her that she can sew on a patch to cover the mistake …and that it would look “cute just like a patchwork quilt”…and watch her cry even harder at my suggestion. :halo:
Or if that’s too obvious…then I’ll “innocently” bring my my plate of greasy salan along with me and then do the SATYA NAAS of her dress.
And if I miss the above opportunities…then I will purchase a packet of itching power (or two) from Spencer’s…which I will sprinkle very generously on my “good pal’s” wedding dress when she’s not looking. And then I will watch her scratch herself silly like a dog ridden with fleas on her wedding day.
But I’ve pretty much decided that I would never show friends/family my wedding clothes…I’ll tell them it’s a surprise. ![]()
Re: Someone stole my wedding dress idea!
I wouldn't call her a pal to start with, but i would mention to her how dissapointed you are that both your dresses are identical, and had you known she would have copied your idea you would never have shown her in the first place. :)
Re: Someone stole my wedding dress idea!
Do'nt get upset...she can replicate yur dress ,not yur face and beauty....be a happy bride and think tht yu r going to look beautiful in yur attire...Gud luck dear..
Re: Someone stole my wedding dress idea!
i would accessorise my dress better then my pal and would not show anything to her.
Re: Someone stole my wedding dress idea!
Off with her head!
Re: Someone stole my wedding dress idea!
I wont mind at all and would rather feel good that my ideas inspired her !

Re: Someone stole my wedding dress idea!
:hinna: my wedding was supposed to take place after eid-ul-fitr. i got my mehndi outfit ready by the best local designer ( colors of my own choice) …and when i went to take my dress back a lady sitting there for her daughter’s mehndi dress saw the color combo of my dress and asked the designer to make same dress for her daughter
i was really annoyed and i asked her “aunty i can help you choosing other colors but not “this” please…:bummer” but she said its unique and she want same colors ![]()
